Guest guest
Carol, Have the blood test, you know it makes sense. Yes, alot of your symptoms sound like hypoT. But how will you know if you don't get tested? Some sufferers don't get so far as a test being offered to them until they have suffered greatly first, after asking to be tested. Guest guest
I never heard of a Health Anxious person! but I guess we all are when we aren't getting the right medical care. Sounds like you really need thyroid/adrenal meds. I think you should get the CORRECT blood tests (free T3, free T4, TSH) but don't accept an " overactive " Dx. Guest guest
Hello, ... You sound very familiar to a young woman that I have known for many years. She is always very " high strung " , nervous, anxious, clumsy. She came to work for my husband and I when she was 17, and is 32 now. She lived with us until about 8 years ago. We took her in after her mother threw her out for fighting with her dad. After learning a little bit about the environment she grew up in, I could understand her nervousness. There was always tension in the home, her father was the supreme ruler, and her mother was the groveling servant girl basically. Her mother didnt ever stick up for the children when things got tough. Dad would yell and spank. And if their mom didnt do everything right, he would yell at her too. Everyone was always on edge...just waiting for the next fit. I think when you are growing up, and your body is establishing the " status quo " sort to speak...and this constant agitation becomes " the norm " how does one turn it off? She was conditioned from a young age to be in a constant state of ALERT. Her adrenal system had to reach a point of exhaustion, but none of the doctors she went to were talking about that...they were just trying to figure out which pill to give her to quiet her down. Eventually she developed panic attacks, and the medications they gave her got stronger and stronger. Over time, these drugs compromised her liver function, and in turn her hormonal status. Considering that is where conversion takes place. She definitely has Hypo symptoms...she could be a poster child for it. She is losing hair, she is puffy all over, forgetful you name it, she has it. But, she got sucked into the psychiatric drug circle, and now they have her believing that all of this is in her head. It may have started there, in the way that she was conditioned to respond to her environment, but it certainly does not have to remain that way. I truly believe if she were given some adrenal support, early on she would be a different person now, and maybe she would have been spared the hypo stuff all together. The doctor that she sees now, in addition to the psychiatrist...is primarily concentrating on her hormonal issues. He is considering giving her some testosterone supplements. YIKES. I have tried to share what I have learned with her, but she continues to let herself be led by these doctors who see her only as $$$$$$. The longer she is ill, the more they will benefit. My suggestion to you, is to learn as much as you can, and do not take everything the doctors tell you as the " final word " question everything! Learn what tests are the most useful, and insist upon them. Ask for copies of all lab work! Doctors tend to be less neglectful when they know that you are keeping track of what they do. Insist that they explain the results of lab work in detail....and take notes! Do not settle for the phone call that says " everything is fine " . That is always subject to interpretation. What is fine for one person, is not necessarily so for another. There are many folks here who have been where you are, and can be very helpful... Guest guest
We have not started chelation yet. My son just went on a trial of Armour because his thyroid is borderline which people did suggest as a result of his last hair test('s hair test in files). I purchased Andy's book and awaiting it's arrival. In the meantime, I am trying to figure out which chelator to use (dmsa or ala). He did have high copper/zinc but not red zone. Not sure if he is high in lead, would I know this from the hair test as well? He is currently on: Armour 1/2 pill daily increasing to 1 valtrex amphotericin b zinc magnesium taurate dmg b complex coq10 vit c vit e CLO sugar companion(biotin, carnitine, ) b6 p5p selenium iron 3X per week enzymes TIA. We are planning to start chelation soon.

Guest guest
Yes, he is on Amphotericin B which is an RX antifungal right now, he gets biotin in the sugar companion already. Guest guest
I am reposting this as I have not gotten an answer. I am starting Andy's book, but we are also treating high herpes 6 with Valtrex. I have been reading about DMSA and Valtrex putting too much stress on the liver on this board. My son had high copper('s hair test in files) but I believe its not off the charts, can we use ALA then while treating viruses? Or can we use DMSA for awhile also? Thanks to anyone who can answer this for me. > > > > We have not started chelation yet. Guest guest
Yes, he is getting zinc 3 tsp(45 mg) after dinner. Is this enough to chelate with the ALA then, I really need to start getting rid of the metals. My original post has all the supps he is on currently. Guest guest
> > Hi Dana My name is Heidi from Australia, I have 4yr old ASD child and am seeing a DAN Dr in Melbourne, testing has shown heavy metal posioning and we are chelating using Andy's protocol. Our DAN Dr has him on Brainchild Spec Supp vit's and Min's and has suggested extra Zinc to help with persistent Tonsillutis, do you think it would be ok to add extra Zinc directly into the Brainchild Minerals supp, Adding additional zinc should be fine, altho it is usually best to divide the dose into 2-3 doses per day. Be sure you give zinc with food, otherwise it tends to cause vomiting. >>Aslo would like to add Carnitine and Arginine to these supp's as recommendd by DAN Dr. What do you think? Carnitine was required at my house for proper absorption of fats, vitamin C, B vitamins especially B12 and folic acid, and TMG. It is also good for growth issues and muscle tone issues. So you can add that one to the BC supps. Arginine and lysine are " opposites " , sort of like zinc and copper. If you suspect a herpes virus issue, definitely do NOT give arginine, it will increase the virus. Does your child have OCD issues? Guest guest
I will try splitting it up. Are you saying he may not be absorbing it all at once, is that the reason? I understand he may need more also, he is 40 lbs. so I can go up to 60 mg per day, right? Thank you Dana. > > > > Yes, he is getting zinc 3 tsp(45 mg) after dinner. Guest guest
> > Thanks so much Dana I will add Zinc to BC supps and make sure its given with food. DAN Dr has recommended Arginine for cellular energy. I probably sound dim but what do mean by OCD issues. Obsessive compulsive. >> He has a yeast problem and we are giving him Grapeseed extract and Three Lac. Grapeseed extract is an antioxidant, will do nothing for yeast. Try grapefruit seed extract. Guest guest
>>My boy has many stimming behaviours, lots of vocal stimms What types of vocal stims? Making noises, scripting, others? >>and will obsess over DVD and Video covers, puts them in front of him and stares closely, stiffening body and fingers and making a " ooooooohhhhhhhhh' noise that can get so loud sometimes that we cant hear each other talk. Im guessing this is obsessive compulsive behaviour, what do you think? It can be. It is also a visual. Check my page here for what my son needed to eliminate visuals http://www.danasview.net/issues.htm >> Can you please recommend anything to help. The B12 shots keep working their magic with his language and eye contact. Thanks Heidi My son needed folic acid and carnitine for proper absorption of the mB12. The folic eliminated most scripting, altho the residual required anti-virals also. My son also needed TMG and a few other supps to eliminate scripting. Guest guest
It was never red zone copper, just high copper/zinc ratio. I am awaiting blood serum copper results now. He has been on zinc for many months now. I am just worried about copper toxicity. Does ALA chelate lead as well? There have been a few people who chelated only with ALA, and their test results indicated that lead was coming out. So based on that, ALA apparently does remove lead, altho probably not as efficiently as DMSA. Dana
