Guest guest
, My twin three year olds have been on SCD for 1 1/2 years. You do not cut out carbs. You use specific types of carbs and cut out specific types of carbs (Polysacharrides). The SCD has many cook books and a book to explain how to get started- Breaking the Vicious Cycle. My husband and I have been on the diet on and off with them and the recipes are easy (at least for me) and the food is absolutely delicious! I know my boys have issues beyond what diet can treat. So, we are also doing supplementation and hope to start chelation soon with ALA, but this diet got them started on the road to so much better health. Guest guest
, it does get confusing with so many diets out there. We have found good success with Body Ecology Diet. We have multiple allergies here so we tailor it to work around our allergies. No one diet is perfect for anyone, you kind of have to look around and see what you think will work for your child, your stress level and give you the results you want. Even on this list, I'm sure you will receive several different answers to this question. Guest guest
I did well on a form of the GFCF diet for 6 years (The one I was on was Ashton Embry's best bet diet for MS - it is very similar to a hunter, gatherer or paleo diet). When I was having serious gut problems last spring the beginner SCD diet fixed me up immediately. It continues to work well for me, except when I cheat by eating Christmas sweets. What diet works for an individual is an individual thing. See Andy's file in the files section here " Diet- how to pick the right one for your kid. " The principles are the same for adults. If you are concerned about yeast see the " Neutrophils " file in the files section. Guest guest
All thanks for the replies. , i was actually and still pretty much do the paleo diet.. at least almost.. i was doing it for over a year and still had the leaky gut.. so was wondering if i should take it a step further and do the SCD diet, eliminating complex carbs.. not sure if that would help either. Not too sure if it would though. i might give it a shot for a bit though. scott <lindajaytee@...> wrote: I did well on a form of the GFCF diet for 6 years (The one I was on was Ashton Embry's best bet diet for MS - it is very similar to a hunter, gatherer or paleo diet). It depends on which " gut bugs " you want to control. If yeast, since you mention SCD, I reduced carbs, starches, and sugars, and added biotin and other yeast control. That worked well for my son. We also did paleo for a year, for reasons other than yeast. Dana
Guest guest
so is the SCD or those like it not good for parasites and other organisms? scott danasview <danasview@...> wrote: > > which is the best.. i've read about the SCD diet and Bee Wilders diet > (which i now heard is dangerous) and others? Guest guest
> > so is the SCD or those like it not good for parasites and other organisms? I have never read anything that it helps with that, only yeast. Black walnut is good for parasites. Dana
Guest guest
So what diet is good for parasites? or is it just herbs? i mean the parasites have to live off of something right? the sugar you eat, etc.? scott danasview <danasview@...> wrote: > > so is the SCD or those like it not good for parasites and other organisms? Guest guest
I agree with Dana. SCD doens't feed yeast, black walnut does in critters.
