8 outside the green zone

2 red + (Zinc getting there)

10 high, one on the border.

No counting rule.

Mercury 0.1, pretty low.

Copper red high - follow the copper protocol.

Zinc + molybdenum + liver support

and avoid high copper foods.

Zinc red high. He's probably wasting it. Also B6 may help (below).

Thyroid looks ok.

Na/Mg = 0.6 low ==> Making too little adrenaline.

Tyrosine and Phenylalanine (red meat, dairy or supplement)

TMG (.5-2g early in day),

folic acid (.4-1.2mg, 4x/d) &

B12 (several mg/d), scale these three for a child.

Experiment with B6.

Looks like the adrenal sign may be there ==> low cortesol

Give some adrenal support.

(Check with other parents on how they do this with children)

Here is the deal on B6:

B6 does not agree with everyone.

Adult: 100-250mg with meals and at bed-time (3-4x/day).

If it works, worth experimenting with amounts. If not, don't jack it up.

If > 500mg 4x/day can get tingling & numbness in hands & feet.

If happens, stop and it will cease in a few days.

Adjust for children, assuming avg adult weight 135lb.

So the only thing I'm really seeing here is the copper and lack of adrenaline,

probably also a lack of cortesol. So, perhaps the first thing to deal with,

Irene, is the copper. I would suggest following the copper protocol for 4

months, and then hair testing again. Copper should come down pretty fast. Add

the TMG/Folic Acid/B12 (that's available as " Homocysteine Support " from Jarrow)

and experiment with B6. Ask parents about what they do for adrenal fatigue in

a child (for adults we start wtih adrenal cortex extract, but dealing with

hormones in a child may be different). After that, you may be surprised to

find that other things show themselves in the hair test - or they may not,

let's see.

By the way, I don't remember seeing that arsenic and lead came up positive in

the porphyrin test - I thought it appeared to be negative, no? In any case, in

the hair I dont' see any sign of either lead or arsenic, but if arsenic is

there, the homocysteine support will help his body methylate it and thereby

remove it. Let's see what happens after you get the copper down.

Dave.

Hi I have posted the Doctor's Data hair test results for my 3 year old son Ian

that I just

received in today's mail on the files section of the group. It is listed as

testpage1.jpg: Hair

test results. Please help me with interpretation and counting rules. I don't

know what to do

with these results, and our DAN does not know about or believe in the test

predictably. I

need help and have not had a chance to familiarize myself with the counting

rules. Dave,

Jada, everybody out there, please help! Thanks. Irene

Question about hair test results

I posted my son's hair test results over the weekend, testpage1.jpg in

the files section of the group. In the meantime I went to Moira's site

and familiarized myself with the counting rules. As I see it, he does

not meet any of the rules, although his mineral transport does seem to

be all over the place. I get the following results:

step one - 11

step two - 1

step three - 14

He does have high calcium with low lithium though. (I do supplement

with 250mg of calcium per day, so don't know how this affects his

calcium numbers)

He has high calcium and magnesium, again I supplement high with these,

but potassium and sodium do not seem especially low.

His numbers also are not all low. It seems split almost half low,

with the rest average or on the high side.

What do I do with these results? His porphyrin results said that lead

and arsenic were indicated but not mercury. So the hair results

appear to confirm that I guess. Or can the mercury be gone from his

body but still wreaking havoc with his brain? Or can it just be the

lead and arsenic? And also, if one cannot excrete or deal with the

heavy metals, why would these other elements linger but not the

mercury? It makes no sense to me.

How should I proceed with this? Please help. Thanks. Irene
