I have followed the recent thread about Adrenal Cortex extract and was

wondering if there is a general guideline for dosing. My son is 12

and weighs 100lbs and has had an initial favorable response to 1

cap/day of Adrenal Stress End that I purchased at Whole Foods. It has

Vit C - 150mg

Vit B6- 50mg

Pantothenic Acid - 100mg

Adrenal Peptide Fractions- 400mg

Betaine- 250mg

L-Tyrosine 250mg

Licorice (glycyrrhiza glabra) Root and Rhizome Extract standardized to

contain 5% glycyrrhizic acid - 200mg

Adrenal Cortex Extract - 33mg

I think the key item is the Adrenal Cortex Extract which at 33mg seems

low by what some others have posted they are giving. Not sure how

much the other items are having an effect and normally don't like to

use combinations products but I decided to give the above a shot and

so far so good. Thanks.

We are using Adrenal Cortex from Allergy Research which contains a lot

more adrenal cortex than this. (250mg). For this product you will have

to judge by how he is feeling. You can also chart basal body temps to

see if they are fluctuating or stable. Stable indicates enough adrenal

support. (Dr.Rind)

My dd also responded well to licorice, some people, this is all they

need. So this product may suffice depending on the level of fatigue he

has.

Dave,

If there are any guidelines, I am unaware of them. My ASD son weighs

42 pounds and takes 625 mgs of AC each day. My 150 pound NT son

took only 250 mgs a day and that was enough for him. Like all supps,

I think it's important to start slowly and work up. I think it's

important to provide the other supporting supps too and would not

rely only on the AC, whatever the dosage, to support the adrenals.

Not very helpful I know.
