Guest guest
Years ago we tried Nystatin for our now 13yo who is severe. He had a very severe reaction (very aggressive/angry uncontrollable). The DAN! practitioner we had at the time told us to let him work through it. After 2wks we took him off, fearing he was going to hurt himself or someone else. We have a different practitioner who is suggesting trying it again, & going very slowly (I don't know what the dose was then or how much we gave). He has a very bad yeast problem & has severe reactions to GSE as well. He's doing okay right now on 2500mcg Biotin, 1 Candidase, Custom probiotics, & 1 pkt Threelac, which I'll probably increase. He usually has an initial (pretty mild) reaction & then settles down. I don't know about the nystatin again though. She also wants me to try it for my 2yo who also has a bad yeast problem. He is getting 2500mcg biotin & 1 packet of Threelac. He's had GSE & done okay with it too. However, he has a tendency toward respitory issues, & when she put him on Diflucan he ended up in the hospital in distress. Candex also made him wheeze, so neither is good for him. Is Nystatin safe, you think, for him? I'm a bit concerned about it. Thanks in advance anyone, Michele
Guest guest
I would try it again and make sure you are aware of what dose. If he is sensitive to the antifungal, even a small dose will make him ill. I don't know if some of these practitioners think to tell you also, is when die-off begins you cut the dose back until the body bounces back. Then go to the regular dose. Liz D.
