Your memory is correct on the avicel filler but I am not the moderator

of this group, just helped out in past to keep the forum as much on

topic as possible like the owners prefer. I am not the only one who

has had adverse effects from avicel, in fact there's over a handful now

who have had great difficulty with it. Most all who have had

difficulty with avicel seem to present with the same symptoms.

My symptoms on avicel filler were nausea, headache and just very near

vomiting. How did I know it was the avicel filler? I started LDN with

lactose filler and did fantastic on LDN with lactose filler for 3 solid

months but I wanted to see if I could tolerate avicel so I could switch

to Skip's pharmacy so I could get my LDN at a cheaper price. The

avicel filler made me ill and once I switched back to lactose all was

great again.

I am highly allergic to this filler, too. As soon as I switched to accidophilous, I did much better! Vera, Bino & JerryFrom: Shirley Lotz <shylotz@...>Subject: [low dose naltrexone] unusuall allergy to Avicil filler--?low dose naltrexone Date: Friday, August 1, 2008, 2:04 AM

To the group,

I didn't know that Skip's Pharmacy uses avicil filler. I have been

getting my LDN from there. Is that the only filler he uses? I've been

on various doses of LDN for a couple of months and am now on 3.5 mg

after starting at 1.5 and going briefly to 4.5 mg. I am still

experiencing some sleep issues. While I have no trouble sleeping, I

wake up once or twice a night, often with mild sweats and seem to

sleep longer and be groggy on arising. Does this sound like a normal

response? I am taking it for allergies with the hopes that when I

catch cold, it won't trigger my asthma and cause me to cough for

months afterwards. Unfortunately, the only way I'll know if it is

working is if my next cold doesn't trigger the same aftermath.

Otherwise, I am in excellent health for a 77 year old.

I am also one of the people who had a very bad reaction to Avicel in 2006. It seemed to exacerbate my reflux problem and I was in a lot of pain for several days. As soon as I switched to acidophilous all the symptoms went away and I have been "good to go" for over 2 years now. Irmat pharmacy compounds my 3.0 capsules.

I will also report that the LDN has done a wonderful job keeping my allergies at bay this summer for the second year. I have used Claritin on about 10 very bad days so far, but otherwise didn't need it. In prior years I couldn't function without that medication, and before that, a drug called Seldane.

Now if they could find something for the foot numbness and balance issues I am dealing with this summer. Has LDN helped anyone with those?
