Guest guest
Alison hit the nail on the head. Let's give each other a break. Many of the adults here have the same issues their kids do (less than perfect communication & social skills, etc.). I do a lot of emailing on 2 AR groups I own, even tho I don't say much here. As an Aspie, it WEARS ME OUT trying to figure out how to word an email just right, so no offense will be taken. I discovered it doesn't matter how much effort I put into it, I was inevitably going to pxxx someone off. I try not to worry about it (but I still do), figuring that passing along what I've learned over the last 8.5 yrs. is much more important than what someone thinks about how I word my emails. in AR P.S. One little snippet of wisdom I have learned: If you don't have time for all the group emails, at least read Andy's. [ ] Re: Andy and etiquette EDTA Digest Number 12774 If Andy had to preframe everything in a kind manner according to each individual's taste or etiquette level, he simply would shutdown, (hope I haven't over stepped my limit here) and ALL of us would be out of luck. IMO. As it is he is on other chats, and has a life outside this chatroom. Lest we forget. Alison F. Guest guest
I understand how you feel. I think my situation with my son has taught me to have a thick skin when it comes to people now. Originally I cried when doctors or proffesionals would make harsh remarks and then I got mad. Sounds like you are at the mad part and that is a good thing. I've learned when it comes to helping my kid...it doesn't matter who's mouth the good advice comes from or the personality behind it.....I just take the good parts and leave the personality part behind. I've noticed that the folks who are kind and misguiding are dangerous, and those who are trying to help recover our kids can be abrupt and harsh. It's the battle that can take even the most kind gentle person and harden them, so please understand it's only done out of frustration and a desire to help....not mean-spiritedness. 6a. I need kind advice, not snippy remarks. =======================================================
