Guest guest
My son is 5 yrs, 45 pounds. He has done 35 rounds of dmsa/ala at 12.5mg each over 20 months. Round 36 we finally increased him to 20mg dmsa/15mg ala. And he did wonderfully. That was April 15th. We began another rounds (37) on Friday at the same dose. He did fine friday and yesterday. Today he woke up and seemed layed back compared to his normal self. He just layed around watching tv complaining he was really cold. He felt cold. He did not want to walk and complained his legs hurt. By 12n he was looking " ill " but showed no fever or other symptoms, just that his one arm and legs hurts and he " could not stand " . He was crouching instead. We have never had this reaction/problem before off or on round. Has anyone seen this? I stopped his round today after his 10am dose. He is on supplements per Andy. I am inclined to think the leg pain was the same type of bone pain I get sometimes using dmsa (achy). But its hard to say, he said it felt like it was his bones not his muscles...but he's five. It's 2pm now and he seems a bit tired, run down, but says his legs feel better. Calcium?? Maybe he needs more than 500mg a day? Any ideas? I am considering going back down on his dose next time even though he did fine last time.
