I had my Baker's Cyst removed. My doctors (rheumie AND ortho) told me they

usually go away after inflammation is taken care of. After 4 injections (yes

4) and failed attempts to drain it I begged to get it removed since it was

hindering my driving. They kept telling me it would go away. After surgery

though I had some nerve damage that is almost repaired. Nothing that was

horrible, just no feeling on the back of my leg. The cyst area can be

repaired but the fluid can go elsewhere in the knee and cause more damage.

Both of my doctors were dead set on having it healed on its own so I guess

it's possible. One day my knee locked and almost couldn't brake my car.

After that I told them it is coming out! It has been 3 years post op and

haven't had it come back or have fluid pool anywhere else in my knee. *I*

didn't have any post op pain or have to go through therapy. A procedure I

would recommend if it is necessary.

Hello Shandi, I am Bobbie and have not been very present in this group yet

because so far I was trying to find out everything about medication, and so

on about rheumatoid arthritis myself. Can you tell me more about Baker's

cyst because I will have one removed from my right knee very soon and am

waiting for the surgery date. It's rather a big one. Can you help me find

some info and documentation on this. Please. Let me know at

bobbie.pascal@...

Thanks in advance. Bobbie

it is working on his stomach too).. He is taking some super tonic

Just the other day he told me the MSM was making him gain weight

not in one day of taking it.

So, any suggestions would be good... topical even better... (I'm

at wits end here so looking for some new ideas.

I am not even going to ask how a baker gets a cyst on the back of his

knee. =-O I didn't

know your father was a Baker Suz?

:-) Anyway, LOL, castor oil pack will help to break it

up and dissolve it. Would be interesting to know how DMSO would work on

it. ;-)
