Guest guest
ALA won't chelate lead... but Andy Cutler has commented on this situation before (lead toxic but can't use DMSA), see: http://onibasu.com/wiki/Cutler_protocol under the section " Treating_lead " Most people with liver problems may tolerate low doses of DMSA used in Cutler's protocol. For liver issues (especially relating to DMSA), you might find the following useful: http://onibasu.com/wiki/Liver_support Hope that helps, Jay > > ALA is the only chelator we can consider at the moment due to > compromised liver. > > does it rid body of lead AND mercury? or just from the brain? > > sorry to be so dim > > thanks >

A while back, someone posted here that her son's testing indicated that the ALA alone was pulling both mercury and lead. So I suspect it does pull lead, altho probably not as efficiently as DMSA. I also have received several private emails that other parents also received similar test results, and they used ALA alone. Based on my experience with ALA, it does pull metals from the body as well as the brain. Dana
Guest guest
Does anyone know how the lead levels compared to when taking DMSA? Are the lead levels indicative of someone regaining metal excretion ability rather than the ALA doing lead chelation? > A while back, someone posted here that her son's testing indicated > that the ALA alone was pulling both mercury and lead.
