Guest guest
My son tested really low glutatione levels, 480 (baseline <650) and prior to chelation, we did two glutatione IVs and each time, he showed noticeable improvement in behaviors. After we started oral DMSA, we went for a third glutathione IV and he was miserable all afternoon and threw up after dinner. I read that DMSA normalizes glutathione levels so perhaps the IV pushed his levels too high and caused the negative reaction? We stopped IVs after that. However, on the Ellen show this week, a girl raised $218,000 for her local hospital to do a research trial of IV gluthathione after her brother showed marked improvement after the IVs and got me thinking about doing IVs again, since we did have success prior to starting chelation. We've done 11 rounds of DMSA/ALA, so I'm wondering if we need the IV if DMSA is normalizing the glutathione levels in the body. I know Andy is against IVs, and if we don't need to do it, I'd rather not. But our DAN says that as long as we see improvement, it can't hurt to do more IVs. Any comments/suggestions? Thanks! Guest guest
Supplementing any antioxidant will help preserve glutathione when under oxidative stress, including vitamin C. You haven't said how you are dosing DMSA, which is important consideration. Some of Cutler's previous comments on IV glutathione are here: http://onibasu.com/wiki/Glutathione > > My son tested really low glutatione levels, 480 (baseline <650) and > prior to chelation, we did two glutatione IVs and each time, he > showed noticeable improvement in behaviors. Guest guest
Have you tried oral reduced glutathione to see how your child reacts to that? My son does very well with the oral 500 mg. capsules by AOR Classic Series. Janice
