Guest guest
Thanks Jada, My son is 15 years old 5'4 and 135 LB, a severely autistic. We live in Littleton, NH. He only goes to school from 8:00am to 12 . He works with an aid, in a back room, that guy works very will with my son (Mikey) he takes him to drop off mail and news papers around the school etc... and works with him one on one. But when he has a melt down, nobody seems to know what to do. This week was bad for him. Mikey, on Sunday had 1500 mg of DMSA, for his 6 hour urine test. He was great on Sunday and Monday but Tues. Wed and Thurs he was total off, with his melt downs and not being able to deal with noise, people, etc.. So when that happened in school they did not no what to do. So they locked him outside the school. Thank God, he has a program that picks him up at school from 12:00 to 2:00. That guy seen Mikey locked outside and he is the one that told me what they did. But he said, Mikey was very afraid, because he could see everyone looking at him from inside the glass doors, but they would not let him in. So, when he got there he restrained him, by grabbing his arms and rapping them around him. Until he calms down and then he lets him go. Once Mikey calmed down he walked to the car and was OK the rest of the day. He told me the reason the locked him out was so he would not hurt anyone, they said he was pushing the cop thats at the school. And the school staff cannot put their hands on any student. So the only other thing would have been 911 or the police hand cuffing him. Janice </HTML>
Guest guest
Hello Pam Thanks for your concern, I am trying to get all the information I can. I have my pharmacy call the DAN doc first thing Monday, to double check on the amount of DMSA he is giving my son. A total of 1500 mg in one shot seems to be a lot of anything. I know most DAN Doc. are naturopathic, But my son's DAN doc is also a Medical Director Board Certified Physician and Board Certified by the American Board of Holistic Medicine, with Homeopathy Training, Reiki Therapy, Medical Hypnotherapy, Meditation, and study of Phytopharmaceuticals. But I worked in a Hospital for 16 years, and I trust no one! When it comes to my son. I just like to put all my eggs in a basket and make my conclusion once my basket is full. Years ago when my son 10 years old, the hospital in which I worked could not figurer out what was wrong with my son, (his was eating, but when he had a bowel movement it would come out like bubbly rice water) I had went to a Homeopathic guy that would buy my supplements from. I asked him if he could help me son, he give me some things to try and had me make special shakes for him, I was even growing Wheat Grass in my house and making him juice with it. He give me some Sonne's Bentonite detoxification, and that is what did it for my son. He was no longer having bowel problems. But that guy's fame went to his head and he started calling himself Dr. and he went to jail.... But back than he had me do a hair analysis on my son and Mikey's Dan doc has a copy of that. It did not show any mercury in his system. Mikey's Dan Dr. said, it is because children with autism hold onto the mercury, metals etc.. So it sometimes doesn't show up in the hair. I think he wants to see how high the mercury levels are so he can determine the treatment. As for my son's school, I am calling them 1st thing, to set up a IEP meeting to update my son's IEP which does not have a behavioral plan in it. So for any reason he has a meltdown it will be handled properly. Thank you for your input, and like I said, I am always interested in everyone's information that can help me in my decisions, So keep them coming.
