Hi all. I have a 21 year old who responded miraculously to biomedical treatment for autism but remained physically frail. Mike was dxed with Crohn's Disease at age 16 and Lyme Disease, last summer,as well as a non-specific immune deficiency, rheumatoid type arthritis (most likely a consequence of chronic lyme) leg ulcerations, and reflux. After failing conventional treatment for Crohn's that left much the worse for wear, wanted to try LDN. Last fall I we got Mike's prescription for 50 mg tablets and compounded it by crushing it in a bottle of distilled water, then measuring it out in baby tylenol droppers. It worked great for 5 days, then stopped working just as quickly. After reading the forums posts here, it was probaby a combination of being the wrong form and Mike still having morphine in his system from a hospitalization 6 weeks before he started the

LDN. Since then, he has been seeing a holistic dr and a nutritionist, who have jointly detoxed a number of pathogens and built up his system. 3 weeks ago things were so out of hand that it looked like nothing would stop another hospitalization. I made the LDN up exactly as before, and this time I put it into pure shea butter and rubbed it onto 's skin at night. we started with 1.5 mg and slowly worked up to 5. Just like before, it worked the very first night. Within a week, the bleeding had slowed by 75%. We did order the compounded, but Mike felt like it just wasn't right, so now I am measuring the correct amount every night and adding it to shea butter, then applying it . So far so good. I just wanted to introduce myself, and say if LDN doesn't work one way, try it again at a different time or in a different form. I know that it has saved Mike from another hospitalization and rounds of antibiotics

and steroids. We definitely dodged a bullet.
