Guest guest
As advised on this list, I began giving my daughter adrenal cortex this week. She did make note to me that she had a problem with very loose stools. Is this a common reaction? Or is it more likely that I need to back down on her magnesium that was helping with this issue. She has remained regular on a dose of 1000mg of chelated magnesium.

First, check the ingredients of the adrenal cortex, see if you notice anything that might have caused this problem. But, decreasing the dose of magnesium is probably what she needs. Yes. Try less Mg. > She has remained regular on a dose of 1000mg of chelated magnesium. > That is a lot.
Guest guest
Yes I know it is a lot however... Her neurologist was okay with the amount as this is why we think we are seeing a reduction in seizures. It is the dose that has given her a regular BM. When I reduce it she returns to being constipated. Just wondering if the adrenal cortex changes this? Today she is okay. She also could have been coming down with something.. as she has the sniffles the last two days. Robin > > > > As advised on this list, I began giving my daughter adrenal cortex > > this week. Guest guest
Robin, not sure if this helps, but adrenal cortex has not caused any bowel problems in myself or either of my children. I have not seen it cause constipation or diarrhea. Those I have talked to who have taken it have not reported this either. And magnesium at that dose is associated with diarrhea. It's a lot..a way lot. But if she's ok today, give it a few days..maybe it was just a virus. If it keeps happening, then she may no longer be that mag deficient that she needs 1,000mg. At which point you'd want to slowly back it down. Constipation can be the result of dairy intolerance, food allergy, lack of digestive enzymes, yeast, and low thyroid function. Probably many more things I missed..just thoughts to keep in mind. > > > > > > As advised on this list, I began giving my daughter adrenal cortex > > > this week. Guest guest
I think I missed alot of this discussion but, for an example on dosing magnesium, my 7 year old weighs 44.5 pounds and he was recommended to take 400 mg of magnesium per day for constipation. This was enough to do the trick. Maybe that can put some perspective on the dose? --- Jada <paxlforme@...> wrote: > Robin, not sure if this helps, but adrenal cortex > has not caused any > bowel problems in myself or either of my children. Guest guest
Thank you Jada. That is the answer I was looking for. I am very well versed on magnesium. I have no experience with Adrenal Cortex. I am always curious when adding something new if that is the problem. I am not sure what positives I am looking for. She does fit many of the symptoms so I am making an assumption that reduction in those would be my positives. One more question. Are there any vitamins or minerals that it should be given with or without? I recently learned that selenium and Vit C should not be given together. Not a problem to separate, but good to know. Thanks for your help. I have seen a reduction in seizures this month. From six to two. I am still learning about chelation and it scares me. I am not sure I am up to it on my own, without support. Guest guest
Here only immediate improvement was noted, no negatives. P Arias wrote: > > I gave my dd a teeny bit of the ACE yesterday.
