Guest guest
did some research on headaches and ldn and it says that one should be off opiates 2 weeks before starting ldn otherwise could get bad pain backlash. I was off prophoxyphene for 3 days before starting as we thought that was safe amount of time, but now I am wondering if perhaps it wasnt long enough and that could be related to bad headaches and spine pain and eyes hurting at times too. I didnt take the LDN tonight need to chill and see if headaches go away. My question is, is there anyone out there who had spine or other problems where you had to give up pain med to go on and if so did you wait 2 weeks? I just want to make sure I didnt mess it up to where now I won't be able to get benefit from one or the other, either go back to pain med or LDN. I am willing to wait and experiment with it, but I don't really understand what it means if one gets an increased pain response from the LDN because of their previous analgesic use, like does it just hurt but it will be ok or is it causing some brain damage? Guest guest
LDN would block the pain-killing effects of narcotic containing medications. It's not causing brain damage. Guest guest
thx I know it blocks opiate meds. I am wondering though why some people recommend waiting 2 weeks after analgesics before taking LDN? Other than having some suffering possibly for awhile is it alright if you didnt wait 2 weeks, anyone know? > > > > did some research on headaches and ldn and it says that one should > be > > off opiates 2 weeks before starting ldn otherwise could get bad pain > > backlash. Guest guest
LDN will block the analgesic effects of any opiate drugs (includes codeine, dihydrocodeine, morphine, pethidine or diamorphine) presently being taken, the use of LDN will initially greatly increase the level of pain experienced. It is therefore advisable that any opiate-like drugs be discontinued at least two weeks before this treatment is initiated. Go to the LDN website at www.ldninfo.org and click on the Further Q and A page for frequently asked questions and answers. > > thx I know it blocks opiate meds. Guest guest
thx I have looked and can't find the answer to this question though, I mean its too late for me, I didnt wait 2 weeks, I'm in bad pain now, so if one didnt wait the rec'd 2 weeks, the pain will go away and the LDN will start working right after the gross part is over? > > > > thx I know it blocks opiate meds. Guest guest
You are probably going through a severe withdrawl and the fact you ARE feeling pain means LDN IS working, except not in the manner you want it to. I would stop LDN and restart in two weeks. This drives home the point that everyone must read and study Dr. Gluck's website before starting LDN. And ask questions here.
