I was pregnant with my first born to be a son and I was very aware of Autism. I

followed the textbook and didn't put anything into or on my body. No fish, no

nail polish, no hair dye, no lotions, etc. The only thing I used was makeup and

hairspray. Of course now there is something out about mercury being in certain

types of makeup. I can't be for sure but I

think that Lorell and Estae Laudre are two of the top containing from what I

remember reading, but you should check each label for yourself to be sure...

Anyway, I did everything I could from the information that I had and still ended

up with a son on the spectrum. I think if I were wanting to be pregnant again I

would get a hair elements test done on myself first and make sure my body was

" in shape " to house a baby. After that I think the rest is up to God. There is

a reason that my son is a part of this, and that I am involved. Don't know why

yet though. :(

http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com is a great website for figuring out which

lotions, shampoos, etc. are toxic!

Here are some things that I wished I had done: Eat organic as much as

possible, avoid fish (most are toxic but take high quality fish oil as

substitute making sure to have right amount for pregnancy), get a

filter on the tap water and avoid all possible sources of BPAs (foods

packaged in plastics/tupperware, etc.

Do what you can & try to enjoy the time left in your pregnancy.

Make an informed decision about vaccination before the baby is born.

If you don't want them to vaccinate, make sure that you are clear that

you don't want the Hep B in the hospital. Breast feed as long as

possible. Be very watchful for any signs of food allergy. Delay

introduction to gluten and dairy as long as possible. If you need to

formula feed, consider a formula like Nutramigen where the casein is

highly broken down. Use infant probiotics (this will help establish

good gut flora and reduce the risk of food allergy). Cod liver oil

also can be given. Consider organic foods (they make lots of organic

baby foods now or you could make your own). Most importantly, try to

enjoy your little one. We also have a second boy who is now almost a

year. It is so hard to just enjoy this child and not be paranoid. I

have to say though, I am so appreciative of every little milestone he

reaches. I don't take anything for granted anymore.

Hi Cassie,

Congratulations! Educate yourself about childhood vaccines and consider

avoiding them. " What Your Doctor May NOT Tell You About Childhood Vaccines " by

Dr. Cave, " Evidence of Harm " by Kirby, and " A Shot in the Dark "

are a good place to start. They start with the Hep B on day one, so you'll need

to make your wishes very clear (in writing) on the birth plan. Plan to find a

mercury-free dentist. Plan to breastfeed if you can. Consider avoiding dairy

and gluten while breastfeeding.

I would fully agree!! & nbsp; Our daughter was 5 weeks early, and no one even came

into my hospital room to let me know they had given her a Hep B shot the day she

was born! & nbsp; i would never have consented,...i mean at 5 weeks early

especially, but even a full-term newborn, doesn't have an immune system that can

fight off all the mercury they're given in their shots! & nbsp; i asked our

pediatrician about it after she was diagnosed, and she just flippantly answered

that it was common practice and they don't usually ask! & nbsp; & nbsp;i wish i had

known going in so that i could tell them as soon as she came out that i wanted

to make sure she didn't get shots as a preemie newborn. & nbsp; evidence of harm

was crazy to read...i had to put it down several times for a couple days because

it was so disturbing, but it's definately a good read and really

informative! & nbsp; bottom line is that we're all here to protect our kids,

and & nbsp; we would be really bad parents

if we didn't check out every little substance that entered their body. & nbsp;

Just do lots of research first and be really prudent about what he's exposed to,

i'm sure he'll be fine! & nbsp; Congratuations!!

Thanks a lot everyone!

I did avoid fish and drink very little milk after i joined this

group. But I did not have knowledge what to take as substitude. I

find some fish oil with warning:not for pregnant woman. I am taking

Pregvit only. Please recommand brand and dosage if anyone have

experience.

I asked my OB about accination for Newborn. He told me the first

needle for infant is at 2 month of age (I am in Canada). and i will

not accinate him any way. The Hep.B one right after born is so

frighten to me. To my understanding the hosipital stull may not let

parent know since they take it for granted.

I will get the formula people recommand here. I also need advice

about the brand and dosage of infant probiotics and cod liver oil.

or where can i get educated about all these things for infant.

I appreciate all your input.

If you birth in a hospital, you cannot EVER let your baby out of your

sight. Either you or your dh must always be with the baby. You may

want to prepare a vaccine exemption for your baby to take with you.
