For my son, the most important supplements to address mito issues were CoQ10, carnitine, and taurine. >>Any recommendations on dosing for the following > child?? > 35 pound male 3 year old on the following Kirkman Lab supplements > daily: Start with low doses and work up as required. > 2 capsules hypoallergenic supernuthera > 2 capsules hypoallergenic promineral support > 20 mg zinc > 1 capsule probio gold > 1/2 tsp cod liver oil Are those doses working okay? Do you notice problems? They seem okay just from a cursory glance, altho they may cause problems for certain children. Dana
Guest guest
Dana, Will's doing great with the dosing of supplements that he is currently on with the questionable one being the CLO. We are also hoping to test out DMG w/folinic acid and B12 in the near future once we get the CLO issue stabalized. Regarding CoQ10, carnatine, taurine, any suggestions on starting dose and max dose as well as preferred brands? Again, MANY thanks for your help!! Stacie > > Dana, > > Thanks for the insight! Guest guest
> Regarding CoQ10, carnatine, taurine, any suggestions on starting dose > and max dose as well as preferred brands? CoQ10: I started with 15mg per day, worked up to 60mg per day. Carnitine: Started with 250mg per day. One of my kids needed as much as 5000mg 3x per day at one point. This helps not only with fats, but my kids need it for proper absorption of vitamin C and certain B vitamins, especially mB12, folic acid, and TMG. Taurine: Started with 250mg per day, worked up to 1000mg per day. For brands, I go to my local health food store and find brands that have the fewest fillers and additives. Henry's brand [the store brand of Henry's Marketplace, where I go] generally is the best for my kids. I have used other brands also, like Natural Factors. I use NOW for carnitine, because it is expensive and NOW is not as expensive as the other brands. Dana
