" Poke salad Annie, gator's got your granny, chomp, chomp, chomp " !!! Uh,

poke poultice. Powdered fresh poke root is best or dried if you can't

get fresh but it must be powdered up fine. You will need enough to make

a paste using a poke root infusion and bayberry powder. Now mind you

this is for cancer of the breast. You need to make enough to cover the

whole breast but not the nipple. Put onto a piece of muslin or

cheesecloth large enough to cover the whole breast and cut out a hole

large enough for the nipple.

Or you could make a fluid extract of the root and put 1/2 to 1

teaspoonful in 1 glassful of water and take 1 teaspoonful every 2 - 3

hours or just take 10 drops off the tincture every 4 hours. This will be

good for goiter, mastitis and mammary abscesses.

Just use common sense as this is a rather powerful herb. If you need

more info just let me know. Seems to me I recall someone talking about

using cabbage leaves in the bra to help deal with breast lumps. Hmmm..

maybe that was just for mastitis. Anyone recall? I know it was kicked

around on Doc's list for a time long ago.
