However, there really isn't anything truly comparable to Goldenseal in its action as a tonic but as they all contain berberine they can be used. However, you would be much better using the goldenseal if at all possible. Yes, Goldenseal is very costly. Supply and demand. Best would be to find someone with some root and begin growing your own if possible. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man. Guest guest
Hi Don, The lower bowel formula has Barberry as on of the other ingredients already, so I think I'd need to add something in addition. I've never heard of the Oregon Grape root, I'll have to check that one out.. I know that Goldenseal root is a Very good herb and I have used it alone several times and it has always helped.. Maybe I'll be able to find it somewhere in a small amount.. I'd love to be able to find someone that I could get some root from and grow my own.. This spring coming I plan on trying my hand at growing many herbs.. Guest guest
Check www.terraherbs.com or www.greenladysgarden.com = both sell in smaller amounts. Still expensive but there really is nothing quite like Goldenseal in its actions. OGR is similar but just doesn't do what Goldenseal will do. Try Rose Mountain Herbs or the others that Suzi listed. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man.
