Guest guest
I believe it is very important to have a good yeast protocol in place before starting ALA, even if the child shows no symptoms of yeast. I did this with my son, and have kept doing so twice a day with a good probiotic supplement and OLE...I have found the probiotic boulardii to be of extra importance. My son has only shown 1 episode of yeast flare up(spinning in circles, laughing at nothing in particular, almost 'drunk like'), which was amazingly gone after doubling his probiotics and OLE for a day, not saying this will be the case for you, but if it gets too bad, stop the round and get his gut in order. Donna. [ ] Dose 5 of the 1st ALA round, my son is SO hyper! OMG He is VERY happy, laughing, squealing, playing, running around wide awake even after an increased dose of melatonin. Even my older (serious boy) one is joining in... he got off his video game on his own to come downstairs and pillow fight the little one. I just keep telling myself that at least, if they stay up all night, it'll be easier for me to do the night doses... Make the switch to the world's best email. Guest guest
I thought I had it under control, his behavior was doing SO good. He's been on homeopathic candida drops since August. He was on a probiotic since Nov 06. But we changed to VSL3 and added Sacc B on Oct 22, 07. I added biotin 3 weeks ago (this had no apparent effect on him). His December OAT showed high arabinose and oxalic acid, but his stool showed no yeast. So, I thought that meant possible candida. I have him on low sugar, GFCFSF and we're watching the fruits. I just ordered some GSE and OLE and yeast guard (trial) with other supp's, on Friday. I'll see how he is today. --- Donna Bowerman <donna12345au@...> wrote: > I believe it is very important to have a good yeast > protocol in place before starting ALA, even if the > child shows no symptoms of yeast. Guest guest
He's up and around, ate breakfast - he's back to his normal self. So far! I'm gonna try giving him more enzymes and breaking his yeast regimen into smaller more frequent doses today. --- " Amy W. Guest guest
Maybe someone else has better protocol, here is what we are doing: vsl3 1/2 packet per day (was 1/8 per day per our DAN but it wasn't doing enough) Sacc B 1/2 capsule per day Digestive enzymes with all foods and 2X/day on empty stomach biotin sprinkled on foods 2 X per day I'm trying to break them up throughout the day. With all these meds, its a good thing he doesn't like to eat too much food at one time The hyper was only a couple of hours the first day, granted it was pretty bad for us we definitely noticed, but he was fine the entire second day and he's up doing great this morning. --- Selavka <stacylynncollins@...> wrote: > I don't have a yeast protocol in place for my son > and after thinking about how my son is during > chelation weekends, we need to look into yeast. > Where do I begin? Where do I begin? What do we start off with? Do you kill off the good yeast and the bad? Does the bad yeast come back quicker than the good? At my house, giving a sufficient dose of biotin was about 90% of the yeast protocol. Then, adding a small amount of GSE [more was required for certain protocols] when the yeast did flare. That was really all that was needed. I did use Candidase for a while also. More ideas here http://www.danasview.net/yeast.htm Dana

One question I have is when I went into the Vitamin Shoppe to purchase biotin, I couldn't find it so I asked the sales gal and she said it was a B vitamin and to check that area. I did find it but how does B help with yeast? It is the only B vitamin, in my experience, that does not tend to increase yeast. In fact, it is what the body uses to control yeast. Sometimes I have read it referred to as vitamin H. It is made by the good bacteria in the gut, and also is present in certain foods. Guest guest
> Dana, > How much Biotin did you give? My son is 36 pounds. I started with 400mcg and worked up. At the highest, my son [he was 10 at the time] needed 20mg 3x per day. Dana
