Guest guest
I was going to respond to these meds, and then saw later down in the digest that Suzi did, and did it well. I might add a little information, since I am familiar with them. The Cyclobenzaprine has a half life that stays with you the next day. 5 mg is a small dose, smaller than normal, but at her age, it can really affect her. It tends to act like a sedative, and can really depress motor skills. I hope she is not driving after taking it. If she has to take it, do it at bedtime. Bextra may well be the next one to be taken off the market, as they are finding the same cardiac side effects. Actually any NSAIDs, not just the cox 2 inhibitors can cause cardiac problems. I suspect that she may have A-fib, V tach, or another cardiac arrythmia. I suspect that because of the Plavix and coumadin. When the heart is beating erratically, and it spontaneously converts, a person can throw a clot if the blood is too thick, and these two meds thin the blood to prevent clots from occuring. I further suspect that, because the amiodarone is used to treat arrythmias. If she has arrythmias, however, she needs to be on the amiodarone or something else that controls the arrythmias. Warfarin/Coumadin must be monitored closely, and she would need to have blood levels drawn fairly frequently. If her coag levels are off, it can cause a bleed. I hope this helps.
