Guest guest
Hi everyone. I have a question for anyone who might be able to help..thanks so much to the group for trying to help! My 18 year old Asperger's is quite ill for the last 3-4 years with what is loosely termed Mitochondrial myoptahy, inflammatory immune disorder, etc etc etc Has had several abnormal labs, which fluctuate and change, and ongoing and changing bacterial, viral and fungal infections which, even when treated by DAN and mainstream, return in different forms. Most disheartening, even when these are treated, his physical condition remains quite poor, and even in decline. So treating these appears not to be the final answer. He also had some lab work which revealed significantly high IFNg and IL-17 production against candida antigen. (very high; he is now being treated with Diflucan) Also, a lab which is consistently disregarded by doctors is his high C2 His actylcarnitine Is twice the highest of the reference range Can this be tied in, in any way, even loosely, to a mito or metabolic disorder? it is my firm belief that although 's abnormalities are considered to be minor, for some kids, minor abnormal levels mean something I am investigating IVIG to help boost his immune system, but something Mito/meta is going on here, with environmental trigger, in utero as well as outside of, I have said this for at least 2-3 years, and I hold fast to this belief. I also know many of our kids are following, and will follow, this same path. We need to find answers that traditional DAN approaches cannot remedy. there is more at work here. like so many of our kids, he has had many many tests and seen many many doctors he is quite pale, weak, red rimmed eyes, struggling to maintain muscle mass, and in constant upper back and headache pain If any one has any idea of what condition/disorder/disease this may indicate, perhaps not in traditional, point for point symptom for symptom ,manner, but perhaps a variant of, please assist.. ..the C2 is a real thorn that wont go away and the candida is of significance.thanks so much!
