I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the Female Tonic or the

Menopausal Formula that is in the files work for a woman who is going

through surgicial menopause, and has had a complete hysterectomy? I

heard there is a differance if they are going through Natural

menopause.. And can a woman that has had a complete hysterectomy take

herbs to naturally balance the hormones without having to take

prescribed hormones? I'm on compounded hormones (bioidential

hormones) now and would like to get completely off of them but not

sure where to start and do want to end up with the bad symptoms again

that surgicial menopause gave me.

Hi Eibhlin,

I would suggest the following:

2 parts each of Chaste Tree Berry (Vitex), Wild Yam root,

1 part each Black Cohosh, Blue Cohosh, Goldenseal root, Lobelia, Oats,

Blue Vervain and Motherwort (if you are having heart palpitations or HBP).

You can make this into a tea and drink a cup full three times a day.

Hi Don,

Thanks for the recipe.. I've been reading about some of these herbs

but a few I haven't heard of. I have all of these herbs here at home

except for the and Blue Vervain. I will make a order for

these two tonight.. I trying to wine myself off of the compounded

hormones, I started two days ago by cutting the doseage in half. Can

I use this herbal tea as I'm wineing myself off the hormones?

Hi Eibhlin,

My questions are how much are you taking? Using cream or capsules or

tablets or what? They may be bio-identical but they are still not

produced by a human body. It does come from plants. apparently, but

goes through some drastic chemical preparing to make it into what you

can use. So I really have my doubts about it being truly bio-identical.

However, to your question, yes you may and I do hope you are able to

wean yourself from the pharmaceutical control.

As always, just be cautious. Everybody is different and no two people

react the same way to the same things. How open minded is your MD? You

may wish to consult with him/her first.

Hi Eibhlin,

Yes you can do that if you wish. However, more is not always a good

thing. I would leave out the Sarsaparilla and Damiana though as they are

more for promoting testosterone. Your adrenals make enough of that you

shouldn't need to boost that any. Licorice root would be good and the

Dong Quai ( sinensis). Red clover is good no matter what. Good

overall for the whole body. It is good that you are weaning yourself off

but don't just drop them, unless you are sure your not going to have any

problems. Once you get your tea made and begin using it you might find

that you can cut them down even more and eventually eliminate them totally.

Peace be with you Eibhlin.

Hi Don,

Thanks for the info on those herbs I asked about.. I surely do not

need anymore testosterone so I will not add the Sarsaparilla or

Damiana. I have decided to add the licorice root and red clover, but

I wanted to ask isn't and Dong Quai the same herb? I see

the recipe calls for , I got the (

archangelica) is this one the one that is called for in the recipe?

I also have Dong Quai.

So far I am doing just fine after cutting my hormonal doseage in

half, I will keep it at this dose a little longer then cut it down

some more.. I will make the recipe for the tea tomorrow and start

using it.. is it a good idea to make a tincture with this also?

I'm looking forward to the day when I will not have to take the

prescripted hormones anylonger..

Shalom

==============================

Hi Eibhlin,

sinensis and archanglica are from the same family but

have very different actions on the body. The in the Rx refers

to Dong Quai or sinensis. Having a tincture will not hurt as

you can take it with you and dose as needed by putting it into a cup of

hot water and drinking it just like your tea. It is your choice. I am

not certain what your diet consists of but contemplate changing it to a

more raw food diet and keep yourself away from animal products and the

processed foods.

Peace be with you Eibhlin.
