Consider not having stuff he can't have in the house...

Does he steal food just at home or other places, too?

My mostly recovered 9 yo son has recently regressed into significant

lying and stealing of food (from our pantry / refrigerator). This is

partly due to less supervision, as we have a new baby. We are quite

sure he is not jealous of the baby. My son is bringing down his

little brother in all of this - teaching his NT little brother these

negative behaviors. He is Feingold and CF - both have been long

term. He has always been responsible about his diets, never eating

anything off diet. He knows the diets make him feel good, and he

says he wants to feel good so he wants to be on the diets. Now, he

has been sneaking cheese and tomato sauce items (both not allowed).

He has also been sneaking a lot of gluten bread. I do allow him a

little gluten.

We have a lock on the pantry. When we forget to lock it, he is right

in there taking stuff to a hiding place. He seems to frequently

check the lock. Our refrigerator is built-in, and I can't figure out

how to lock it (without causing damage). But anyway, we should not

have to lock up our house. We are attempting to motivate with

behavior charts / rewards, but his drive to steal and lie is too

great.

He currently has a high glutamate level, which is higher than it ever

has been. He has yeast as well, but that has improved while the

behavior has gotten worse.

With his behavior, everything else is mostly good.

Any suggestions about what we can do? We're thinking of sending him

to a therapist. Anything else? (Also - we are long term Andy

followers / biomed people. He has done lots of chelation and takes

lots of supps. Nothing biomed has changed during this period of

time.)
