Guest guest
First I would suggest doing the juice fast as Don Quai suggested.... also if you read the label on the Vicks it specifically tells you not to put the vicks in the nose.. Besides being a petroleum product the ingredients are irritants to the nose membranes. But if you insist on having something like vixks BUT NOT IN THE NOSE PLEASE,,, here is what I use and it does the same thing for me as vicks does. I mix these essential oils and menthol and camphor in olive oil. but any light oil will work. I have also blended them in shea butter and whipped it till fluffy. You can also add emu oil and msm.for aches. a touch of menthol crystals camphor eucalyptus essential oil peppermint essential oil thyme ceadarwood oregano essential oil rosemary essentail oil Amount depends on the amount of item you are making. Guest guest
Peace to everyone, I just signed onto this group yesterday, and i've been very observant. To add on to this post, i've also had a history of sinus problems, and i've made strides to address them. First, i've changed my diet dramatically. I used to be a meat-eating, fast food eating, chinese food eating, ANYTHING eating maniac. About 3 years back, i decided to cut pork out of my diet completely. Then last May, i decided to try goin' a week without eating any meats at all, just to try it and see how i felt. Well, i felt so good that that week wound up turning into 9 months, and here i am! One considerable difference i've had is that i have soo much more energy, im not as tired during the day, and i haven't gotten any colds or had any temperatures. The only theme that has reoccurred (though not nearly as often as it used to be) are my sinus headaches. My goal is to get rid of them completely, forever!! I also am not satisfied with my skin breakouts, although my skin is a lot better than it used to be after doin' the Master Cleanse for 10 days. But as far as the sinuses, i've seen myself leaning more toward a vegan diet, eating nothing but raw, organic products, and also juicing raw fruits and vegetables. I'm interested in continuing detoxing my self through my diet, and looking for its effects on my skin and on my sinuses. I've read a lot about enzymes and how useful they can be in assisting digestion, etc. And after reading what you just wrote Glenda, i'm very interested in trying them out. How exactly would i perform this test to see if they would work in my body, and where can i find them.?? Which kinds of enzymes exactly will work the best in my situation>?? Are there any other types of fasts and/or cleanses that you would recommend.?? Guest guest
For quick relief of sinus problems you can always use herbal snuff. But this will treat it on a symptom level, which is good, but you really need to go after the underlying cause as Don suggests.... My cousin was in California on a vacation and he was having sinus issues. He went to the health food store and got all the ingredients except the bayberry. He mixed them together and snorted them up. He was burning for a few minutes but after that his sinuses were totally clear and the infection was halted. He has since done a total body cleanse and has had no hint of sinus trouble. The mixture below is a good one to have just in case anything arises, but again it is best to address the underlying cause. Herbal Snuff 7 parts Goldenseal Root Powder7 parts Bayberry Bark Powder1 part Cayenne Pepper Powder1 part Garlic Powder All the above must be ground up very finely. Best to use Habanero Cayenne as it is the hottest. Mix it very well as a clump of Cayenne could keep your eyes in tears for an hour ;o) Won't hurt you though. -----Original Message-----From: Don Quai [mailto:mysticalherbalist@...]Sent: Wednesday, February 02, 2005 4:24 AMhealth Subject: Re: Sinus problems, how do you treat them?jrcapa56 wrote:>>> I have been having sinus problems for about 3 years now. Guest guest
Welcome to the group! Sounds like you are making big gains in your health!!! The more you cleanse the less problems...along with your diet.. There are many cleanses that are good.. the master cleanse is good, so is the total body cleanse.. Mini cleanses are also good, either when first starting out or just to do every so often... Check out the fasts and cleanses in the files.. Do you take any herbs, supplements?... Super tonic is great in general but will also help your sinuses... and the left over pulp can be dried and used as "snuff". in the meantime while you are still achieving cleaning up your sinuses. Check out the articles on enzymes... I get plant enzymes from "Now" vitamins... http://www.supervitaminoutlet.com/Default2.asp Suzinatural game <mathmasta1111001@...> wrote: Peace to everyone, I just signed onto this group yesterday, and i've been very observant. Guest guest
Yes, dairy will mess with you (mucous)..try almond or rice milk....Browse the files and message archives, there is alot of info in both... also there is a recipe file to help you out with those veggies... SuziGypsi <aromatic_wings@...> wrote: Thanks for the welcome Suzi. It is.. I have been using it for a cold I have gotten.. this rubbed on my neck and chest before going to bed has been wonderful. Better then Vicks actually and I have always been a lover of Vicks till I found out about the petroleum based stuff. I make all my own bath and body stuff now and was given this recipe. Not it is my all time fav. Hubby even swears buy it.. I love that I have control over the ingredients. I add a bit more menthol crystals and camphor then i probably should. i love the vapors and cooling... I just recently got into the herbal aspect of health in regards to my own body and how to clean and nourish it... so I am new with all that.. but I will say.. i have been drinking hot green tea when i wake up these days.. and it has some gensing and lemon in it... wonderful.. messes with my tummy but i am assuming it is cleaning and detoxing me... now to do a thourough cleanse and eat right... my son has gotten me into trying the vegitarian way so I am slowly crossing over there too.. just not into alot of veggies so finding it hard.. was hoping juicing would help... looking for a good but cheap one... I fully beleive that cleaning out the toxins helps with sinus etc.. i have had to get hubby to slow down on his milk intake since he has the cold now... hard for him he loves milk so much... but even that stubborn cuss sees the difference since... Guest guest
Peace Suzi, This is the first time im hearing about Super Tonic, and its leftover pulp. Where can i find that.?? To answer your question, do i take any herbs.? Yes. I currently am taking a detox tea (recommended by my herbalist) which has milk thistle, cornsilk, juniper, yellowdock, and burdock. I also use lecithin along with liquid chlorophyll in a smoothie with homemade almond milk and strawberries or blueberries. I also take acidophilus, and some arnica homeopathic medication for my knee (i had ACL surgery in 2003 from playing basketball). The herbalist i saw noted that my kidneys and my intestines were clogged with toxins, and that some of the damage may have resulted from the surgery that i had. So the detox tea that i take will be helping with my kidney, as well as my blood. My allergies (sinuses, etc.), i would say are primarily a result of 2 things: my past eating habits and taking drugs to deal with the allergies for so many years. So i'm basically playing catch up now trying to clean up all the damage i've done in the process. The sinuses every now and then will flare up, and i'm just trying to educate myself the best way i can to try to overthrow them and get rid of the problem once and for all! I"m open and willing to try anything as long as its all natural, non-synthetic medicine. I'm not taking any more drugs. I'll look into the Super Tonic. Where is it available, and what exactly is it.?? (lol. i'm a newbie) Also, where do i search the files to find out about the various cleanses that you mentioned.?? Thanks for your help. It's well appreciated. PEACE Eternally Natural GameSuzanne <suziesgoats@...> wrote: Welcome to the group! Sounds like you are making big gains in your health!!! There is no other way to completely eradicate any physical or emotional problems than through fasting. You also need to make sure you adhere to an all raw diet of course. Fasting will eliminate any physical ailment. Juice cleansing and herbal cleansing can help remove a lot of obstructions in the body (toxins and mucus) to prepare you for a good fast.
