Guest guest
I phoned Garden of Life and they told me they have NO assays they will send out. They assured me that the lead content of their product either met or is less than the FDC regulates, but when I asked what that level was, they couldn't tell me and I'm awaiting word from them. I don't think you will get an answer on this one and should probably use the Independent Lab values that I provided in the one email as representative of the lead content in Primal Defense. The lady who posted this is a reliable source, IMO. Mark Schauss told me a long time ago that if a company won't give an assay, it's not a good sign. However, per the lab report we have on this product, knowing that the Lead content is 7. something mgs per kg, what does that tell me? I have no idea what kind of lead you might be getting in an average serving of this product. Or how much it might accumulatively be if you were using it daily. Maybe will get some better answers, it's quite possible. If an insurance company doesn't give me the answer I want today, I just call them the next day and many times I get the answer I want. Re: [ ] Re: Any news from Garden of Life - Primal Defense? Well, PD is a SBO (soil based organisms) pro-biotics. Although the best form of pro-biotics known, it can contain metals if the harvesting soil is not free of radicals. Some companies say that their soil is scrutinized before used and the SBO pro-biotics is grown in a controlled environment. When or someone else asked for proof of that the company did not provide the proof on paper. I am also another person waiting for the facts on this one. bbrowne123 <bbrowne123@...> wrote: what discussion? primal defence has lead in it? please advise what the word is on this please thanks > > > I was watching this discussion with great interest since my son had a > high lead result on his hair test and although I found lead paint on > his bedroom window frame, I also had been putting Primal Defense > powder in him from when he was about 7 months and starting solid food > until about 3 or 3.5. :-( > > I have been out of the stuff for awhile, and planned to get some more > until I read this. > > He never was the kind of kid that mouthed things, so I wondered how so > much lead managed to get into him from the window - but of course if I > was putting it directly into him via the probiotic that would explain it. > > Has anyone at GoL gotten back to people about their queries? Guest guest
If you lived in a 120 yo home, you also have to wonder what was in the plumbing. Lead used to be used in all the soldering, the brass fittings, and perhaps more. The word for lead in French is " plomb, " and the word " plumbing " comes from the same root if I'm not mistaken. Dean Re: [ ] Re: Any news from Garden of Life - Primal Defense? My son also tested and he's still high on lead but much better after chelation. When he was a baby we lived in a 120yo home. Old but beautiful and the Queen n of the neighborhood. Only because it's my son's health that I gave up on that house. Anyway, we had the house tested and lead was found only in one room upstairs and never had access to that room. When he was 3 yo the development pede sent us to a hematologist at Children's Hospital for some Iv chelation because his lead was at 18 allowed <9, this was the conventional blood test from Children's Hospital. The hematologist said he could not do it because my son's severe asthma and many ear infections and other immune problems. Well you get the picture. He actually said that chelation could kill my fragile child and he did not want to be responsible. Today I know where all the lead comes from. When I look at old pictures I see that almost all the toys and bouncers, swings etc... from his pictures are the recalled toys containing excessive amount of lead. My son got lead from his toys, including Tomas the Tank and others. For the old queen beauty! I got it sold to a family with no little kids, for a good price, so we could build an environmentally safe home. We did a lot of things in this new house recommended by Dr. Rapp's book and got a DAN along with diet. Our son was so sick at the time that even our DAN said chelation needed to wait until he got a little better. He did, and Oral DMSA was the only chelation that he could tolerate with no major problems. He still high on lead, but much less now. For the hematologist? He had no clue how to do chelation! I'm gad I did not listed to him. After DAN and some chelation my son is verbal and conversational today. But the fight against yeast goes on. I used my gut judgment and I'm glad for that. He also manages to be sky high in lead despite no lead paint, no lead around our house that any lead test has shown up (other than a mild response to one stripped door, in a whole house) and not living in a particularly environmentally toxic area. It's not necessarily just the lead they're exposed to, it's what they do with it when they are. My son does not naturally excrete it well on his own. No idea what the outcome of this will be (why can't PD just be tested using a lead tester, for example? I have a spare in the cupboard) but presume with everything you are weighing up the kick starting of their natural process vs pollution.
