Guest guest
Isn't the protocol usually 1/4 to 1/2 mg per pound of body weight? That would be between 10-20 mgs for 43 lbs.My kids get more than 5mg and they do fine with it.But we also use to do the Dan! protocol which called for larger amounts at a time but give less frequently and that didn't bother them either.I switched to Andy's protocol because it made more sense and I felt it was safer. It gets easier, good luck. thedyes <threebabygirs@...> wrote: We are completing our 1st round of DMSA for my 43 lb 5 year old. She seems to be tolerating 5mg ok. Would it be ok to increase to 10mg next round? Only side effect we have seen is a rash on her arms and knee. She has been calmer and more lovable. The last two nights have been hard to give her DMSA at 11pm and 3 am. It takes us about 15 to 30min to get her to take it at night. ( alot of crying) SHe is such a hard sleeper. This is so exhausting. My hats off to all of those parents who have completed so many rounds. Thanks guys for all your help. sheila
Guest guest
Sheila, It gets easier for the night doses. My son is exactly the same size as your daughter but with so many rounds behind him that if you wake him at night, he automatically opens his mouth. I think it would be okay to go up to 10 mgs, but if it were me I'd stay there for a good number of rounds before going up again. I'd also keep a close eye on the rash. It can be a sign of detox and I have been shocked by how many metals the body can move at just a very small dose of chelator. Congrats on the gains already. That's lovely :-) Anita > > We are completing our 1st round of DMSA for my 43 lb 5 year old. She > seems to be tolerating 5mg ok. Would it be ok to increase to 10mg next > round? Guest guest
Thanks. This morning she is complaining her left leg hurts to bend. Any thoughts? She wears pullups at bed time- should I be concerned with her releasing metals in her urine then sleeping in it? Thanks Sheila > > > > We are completing our 1st round of DMSA for my 43 lb 5 year old. Guest guest
Night dosing gets easier by about the fourth round. I had the crying and song and dance too. I remember our first round, it would take me 40 minutes to get him to take it. I just told him I was not leaving his room or turning the lights back off until he took it! That if he just took it quick..he could go back to sleep. She'll get there, be patient. Leg aches..makes sure she gets enough calcium. For us we did see some achy in myself and the kids, calcium helped. You may find that the nightime pull ups go away in a few rounds too. My son became fully potty trained with chelation and dry at night. I would not be too concerned about being in the pull up at night. Children usually wet once a night and it's more towards morning. You can bathe her in the am if you want to be cautious. > > > > > > We are completing our 1st round of DMSA for my 43 lb 5 year > old. She > > > seems to be tolerating 5mg ok.
