So far I have the following lesser toxic options:

1) Holistore

2) Biocalex

3) Diamond Lite

I have put in a call to my holistic dentist, perhaps he can shed some

light on the matter.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Olivia

Depending on the cavity in question, as far as size and such..one

could look at remineralizing the teeth via Weston Price diet, high

vitamin cod liver oil and X factor.

This helped my daughters enamel become whiter and her fluorosis less

obvious. We also found her to be very vitamin D deficient, and

hypothyroid..another reason for teeth going soft.

Most dentist insists it's sugar or poor hygiene, but " cavities " really

are softening of bone. when this happens in the body it's called

osteoporosis. It baffles me as to why it's called something else in

the mouth, when teeth are bones.

Anyway, while this does not solve the cavity in question and what to

fill it with, it does signal that some nutritional deficiencies might

be worth looking into to prevent further cavities.

Check this page for a list of " holistic " materials, and then try to

look up the MSDS to see what they contain.

The one our dentist used was like these, it had acrylates instead of

Bisphenol, and no flouride or aluminum.

I looked up the ones on the site I just gave you in the previous post:

Estellite and Palfique:

This one might be hard to get since it's from Tokyo, it does contain

methyacrylates, but the ones that don't have BisA, have that instead.

http://www.tokuyama-us.com/pdfs/product/manuals/ESTELITE_LV_MSDS_MAN.pdf

Heliomolar is not good, has BisphA and fluoride.

Here are the MSDS for Holistore: It looks promising if you can get a

dentist to use it...

http://www.denmat.com/restoratives/geristore/msds/

Tetra Cream has fluoride.

DiamondLite I had problems finding useful information about when I

looked at it for my son. It seems that no one can verify the actual

ingredients. I have talked to one guy who called them and was told it

had methyacrylates in it, and it shows up on X ray. As do most

composites because of aluminum or whatever they put in them. My

dentist's husband is head of the dental university near by and had

researched this product previously. Then again when I asked. He was

unable to verify that it was a non toxic as they claim or what the

ingredients all were.

All I could verify about it was that it's a " poly ceram " . And it seems

I cannot find a website for them at all. (DRN Research Labs)

Ok so Holistore seems to be the lesser of the evils

Sadly, no filling material is entirely safe. They all contain

plastics, some are worse due to fluoride or aluminum. What I did was

ask my dentist to email the names of all the materials she used. She

actually send me the MSDS's for them. She's really nice. I looked at

all of them. Asked her to look at DiamondLite..which she investigated

and was not able to verify the ingredients or that the company was

still making it. And her husband the dental professor had studied this

product and found problems verifying it (this is what I was told)

I chose one of her products that did not contain aluminum, fluoride or

Bisphenol A. It is an acrylate though. But the least toxic of the bunch...

There's nothing better than our own teeth, but this was better than

amalgam.

For precocious puberty..have you looked at animal products. Milk and

meat in this country is loaded with hormones. (I'm sure your already

on this but worth a mention). Soy is also a no-no. It's likely why my

child went through puberty at 10 years of age.

Anyway, best wishes in sorting this out, hope some of this is useful..

Are you sure that Holistore doesn't have bisphenol-A?

I actually have a mouth full of Holistore - that's what my dentist used when

he removed my amalgams. I always assumed they have BPA - I thought all

composites do - but I would be very happy to learn otherwise. The dentist

doesn't know.

He did warn me that since they have no metal, the Holistore would probably

need some " repair work " in ten years or so.

Hi, it says a lot that info about what 99 percent of dentists put in

our teeth is not readily available, considering most of us have these

substances in our mouths.

Jada, many thanks for your response! This is very helpful. Can you

tell me the testing that holistic dentists do to determine a

patient's sensitivity to a whole list of potential compounds used in

dental work? I first came across this a few years ago and it seemed

to me to be another way of extracting money. Today I spoke with a

holistic dentist I found from toxicteeeth.org (thank you Dana!), and

she tried to push it for our daughter. It seems to me that mercury

is mercury, bpa is bpa, and that I just need to find the least toxic

option. Anyone else have experience with this?

Thanks so much.

It has been said that a true biological dentist will test their

patients for sensitivity/compatability to ANY materials that he/she

is considering installing into one's mouth. Does anyone have any

information/thoughts on this?

I thought it was a waste of money too 5 years ago when I got my

amalgams out. I declined then but after researching I'll get tested

and I'll have my kids tested.

Talking with Hal Huggins and several other holistic/biologic

dentists 've learned there is NO safe dental material and each person

reacts differently to foreign material in their body. The only way

to find out which is best for your body is through testing. I'm

assuming the testing would only have to happen once, but I'm not

sure.

Scientific Health Solutions (800-331-2303) or Clifford Material

Testing (719) 550-0008 http://www.ccrlab.com/ both give you a

listing of dental products suitable for you and those that are not.

And the top things you may want to ask your dentist to avoid in any

dental products are BPA, flouride, aluminum and of course, mercury.

I have taken dental materials to NAET practitioners to have them tested as to

compatibility for me.
