Guest guest
My thought would be it may be signs of oral apraxia. Can he smile on command, give kisses, lick his lips, etc? > Can anyone tell me if not really moving lips, but making sounds in > the throat (most of the time)... is this typical of verbal apraxia? > or is there another speech problem anyone knows of it falling into? > > Does anyone see this lip problem as more sensory related than apraxic > in nature? >
Guest guest
yes actually he can. he smiles a lot, though that is definately one of the changes noted with EFAs (more of it), and he kisses all the time. In fact he often kisses when he wants to say something. And, i've kind of being messy with his food on his lips to make him lick them more, but he is able to do it and feels it there. btw- i still have to feed him all meals, this is an area i've tried to be agressive in and can't forfeit his nutrition for the fits it causes. he is capable of feeding himself but won't. sigh, just another issue. Guest guest
CRACKED CORNERS OF THE LIPS that just won't heal is a sign that one is lacking riboflavin or vitamin B2. If showing a sign of lacking one B vitamin, you’re probably lacking other B vitamins as well. You'll be amazed how quickly it heals by adding, yet again, 1-2 heaped teaspoons BREWER’S YEAST daily to the diet. DRY & CHAPPED LIPS can be a indication of simply needing more WATER each day. It could also indicate a lack of essential fatty acids (add 1 TBSP flax seed oil to your daily diet) or B vitamins (yep - brewer’s yeast again). To help soothe them in the meantime, apply Tui Bee Balme or almond oil to your chapped lips. Suzi What is a weed? Then I tried oil of oregano to stop the burning and it helped, but my lips started peeling and burning even more. Rubbing coconut oil on them brought relief but dried them out. > > I was wondering if there could be some corrolation to drinking the electrolyte drink--too much salt, or too much citrus? Should I try cutting back on one or the other to ease into this, or is this just healing/retracing and deal with it? +++Hi Amy. Toxins can come out through your lips too, and particularly lipstick, lip balms, core sore remedies, etc. that you previously applied to your lips. Are you taking enough vitamins A, D & omega 3 (cod liver oil, and also vitamin E, vitamin C and B vitamins? No, the electrolyte drink won't cause those symptoms except indirectly because it helps your body detoxify. Try cod liver oil on your lips.
