Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: special6mom I can't do that right now; why? =====>Really high copper levels could explain her adverse reaction to just one dose of Ala, I think. Did you do a hair test? If so, what copper level did it show? You might want to think about doing one and if you find high copper you might get some relief from supplementing molybdenum and zinc to bring it down for a couple weeks before restarting the Ala. She does get zinc. Michele > > > > Some might remember when I wrote about my dd (5-1/2) last week. To > > recap, she was given her first ever dose of ALA, appx 10mg, & got > > very ill from it. Guest guest
her test is in the files (under 4 kids test results - 13, 9,5, 2yo). She does get zinc already. Guest guest
Michele, Her copper is high and her mineral transport disordered so it might even be higher than presented. You can supplement molybdenum with the zinc to bring it down. Lots of people with kids with high copper had success with zinc and molybdenum within a couple of weeks to a month or so, in bringing down the copper. You can check http://www.onibasu.com to see what Andy's recommended dosage for the molybdenum, which I can't remember right now. Also, the hair test looks " all low " which means she could use some enzymes and ascorbic acid to help her absorb things better. Could be one reason why the zinc is not bringing the copper down. My ultimate admiration in your chelating 4 kids, one almost drove us to drink. Good luck, [ ] Re: Daughter who was sick-now other problems-help? her test is in the files (under 4 kids test results - 13, 9,5, 2yo). She does get zinc already. Guest guest
Michele, Did you begin with any low dose dmsa to clear organs? Do you think this might help? The hg has affinity for many body organs including brain. It may help to try to clear some of that before you try ala, which targets the brain, again. For both of us here, we did quite a few rounds of dmsa before adding tha ala. For me, the ala produces much more 'head' symptoms used alone or with dmsa. I feel best when using ala with dmsa. My daughter is not able to verbalize this but when I began with her I thought I was using a 'low' dose - 50mg of dmsa and then adding in 50 mg of ala after many rounds of dmsa alone [she's ~115#]. It was not until I began to chelate myself that I realized what a 'hit' the chelators gave. I began with the 50mg and thought !!!!! I took the dose down LOTS for both of us to around 8mg dmsa alone and then worked up slowly to 25mg before adding ala[@8mg now]. We remain at this low dose and things are much more tolerable. > > Some might remember when I wrote about my dd (5-1/2) last week. In addition to yeast [and maybe bad bacteria], the only other thing I can think of right now is my #2's reaction when he was finished with the IP6. My son was mineral toxic. In fact, I used IP6 [a demineralizer] at high doses for several months, to reduce the minerals. I remember specifically the day he no longer needed it, which of course I did not realize until AFTER I had given him his next dose LOL. We were at a park where you can ride on small trains. I gave him his next dose of IP6 and OMG! He was a monster, VERY ODD. It was a nightmare. We had to leave early. I got home and gave him a dose of multiminerals that I had purchased but never used, because I had learned he was toxic. He was much better about 30 minutes later. One more dose the next day, and he was fine. Try increasing minerals, see if that helps. I know ALA has depleted my own minerals. Guest guest
I presume she has NO mercury amalgam dental fillings?! S S Daughter who was sick-now other problems-help? Posted by: " special6mom " hugs4Him99@... special6mom Mon Jan 21, 2008 6:19 am (PST) Some might remember when I wrote about my dd (5-1/2) last week. To recap, she was given her first ever dose of ALA, appx 10mg, & got very ill from it. Threw up, low grade fever, lethargic, cold then warm & clamy, etc. She hadn't eaten since breakfast but then perked up toward the end of the day & had some dry gfcf cereal. She gets various supplements including a good yeast protocol. She was fine by that evening & especially the next day; everyone else was well, including the others on ALA. So it was definitely a reaction to the ALA (again, first ever dose; no protocol issues with this reaction). I ended that round because of the terrible reaction. Most people wrote to try again next time but use a lower dose, maybe 5mg. Others felt it may be yeast. Ever since that reaction she's been beyond difficult to deal with. She has issues, many behaviorial to begin with, but has become a terribly difficult, disobedient, obstinate, defiant child. She even looks for ways to disobey at times & is really nasty. I'm not sure whether to " try again " now at all. What is going on with her? Anyone, help?? I'm worried ( & very tired & burnt out with this behavior). Guest guest
It's tough to get supps into her so I have to really pick & choose. I think I can sneak the moly. into her. What kind of enzymes are you speaking of? Systemic? After last week I'm crashing already... Guest guest
I don't know if that would help. I did DMSA for quite a while & then DMSA/ALA with my oldest a few years ago & it was very hard on his gut. He's doing much better with just ALA. With neither did I see improvements, & haven't yet really with just ALA (just started this again for him so only on " round 6 " later this week). I know all my kids have big yeast problems so I don't like DMSA for them for this reason. Michele > > > > Some might remember when I wrote about my dd (5-1/2) last week.
