Guest guest
Do you have a website/link for the Borax info?...I told someone to do that and they said " no, that actually makes the clothes flames resistant " ...??? [ ] Arsenic, antimony removal Hello.. I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove arsenic and antimony from the home environment? I know I need to remove all flame resistant clothing/beddings, or wash in borax. Anything else? What about arenic? I know it's in soil and in our waters. Should I do a water test? Filtration system? Who should I test with? Anything will help. Our house was built in the 1950s. My husband had our water pipes replaced with a copper sytem. Does that have anything to do with the toxic arsenic/antimony? We don't drink the water, but my concern was the baths. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG. Guest guest
chuckling - I am a " dumper " type of person...I soooo do not remember " recommended " amount..I use 1/2 a regular size box, up to a full box, in a load. Ummm, the standard size box, in the baking aisle at the store...Probably used a full box or more, for each load, each wash, last year. (plus borax ...oh, bet there are directions on the box, didn't think of that - big sigh - nope, my box has alot of other ideas on it, but nothing on laundry...hmmm. wishing you the best answers elizabeth > > I really need to do this...how much baking soda do you use per load? > > > [ ] Re: Arsenic, antimony removal > > > I did an info slam on antimony not too long ago - couldn't find the > post, but have some of the sites saved....Also wanted to mention that > takes five washings in baking soda to remove antimony (an Andy- > ism ...Last year I used All the options, when rewashing > clothing/bedding/etc...borax, baking soda & vinegar galore with lots of > rinsing going on...and have switched to dry laundry powder, for general > use. I know I need to remove all flame resistant clothing/beddings, or wash in borax. Five times. Also the bedding. REplace the mattress or at least cover it with a plastic cover. >Anything else? What about arenic? Don't know - other than if you live on an old fruit orchard, then the soil could contain it. Also, there's arsenic in chicken feed, so that could be a problem, and I've seen mentioned here that there is arsenic in imported rice. >I know it's in soil and in our waters. Should I do a water test? If you have a well, then I think that's a good idea. >Filtration system? Who should I test with? DDI does a test. You don't need a doctor for that one. >Anything will help. Our house was built in the 1950s. My husband had our water pipes replaced with a copper sytem. Does that have anything to do with the toxic arsenic/antimony? If they used the antimony solder for the pipes ... well, I guess it may. >We don't drink the water, but my concern was the baths. Dave.
