Guest guest
Besides the benefits of LDN, suggest you look into bio-identical hormones---------Goggle up doctor in your area using bio-identical--------they are prescribed by blood work drawn from your wife, not just a prescription from pharmaceutical company. They are natural, not the synthetics. Also, look into sites such as www.neuroreplete.com , owned by company Neuro Research. They will refer you to a MD in your area working with the amino acids needed to balance out the body for all sorts of health issues, to include depression. Hang in there----depression is hard on all concerned. You are both in my prayers. God Bless, Sara Sara Mom/Grammie to eight "Trying to live by my priorities rather then my pressures". Guest guest
I can only speak for myself on this. I have struggled with depression/anxiety my whole life. I am in a bad slump now. I have taken LDN for about 2 years, and have seen no difference in my depression. I am also on an anti-depressant. LDN has helped my CFIDS and FMS, and I believe it has also lowered my cholesterol. Guest guest
Maybe you should consider trying DLPA. It may help your depression. DL-Phenylalanine 500mg 2x's per day Dr. Bihari recommendation http://tinyurl.com/6jpd6e Dr. Bihari recommended the supplement known as DL-Phenylalanine (DLPA) to enhance the effectiveness of LDN. The suggested dose is 500 mg twice a day between meals. There are, however, a number of precautions involved in using DLPA. Guest guest
There is another possibility. If ones seritonin (nuero transmitter) levels are low they will also be depressed. I was diagnosed with it several years ago and put on an anti-depressant. I later found out that 1000mg of L-Tryptophan taken on an empty stomach 20 minutes before bed worked better than the anti-depressant. Then it was taken off thee market, but it is back now. More to research...... I am getting so much good information and direction for research from this group. I received my LDN Sat and tonight will be my third night of taking it. No sleep the first night, so tired by the second night I slept most of the night. Don't feel any results yet, but then I just came off prednisone also, taking my last 5mg the same day I started LDN. Here is another great link dealing with nutrition, some written by Dr. Burt Berkson. http://www.immunesystemetc.com/Nutrition.html Jo > > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > > > I just want to ask anyone here, is LDN useful for depression ? a > > > person that > > > > I know of suffer from depression, cant sleep properly, and > > > sometimes gets > > > > migrane...I just feel really sympathy with her situation...I > > dont > > > want her > > > > to take prozac or the migrane drugs... > > > > > > > > Please someone here, do advise me. > > > > > > > > thank u so much !! > > > > > > > > Shaq > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I want to share two things I've bee doing lately and found relief. I had RA for over 10yrs, no medication for the last 3. Recently I started drinking Kombucha tea and noticed less joint pain. I also started using kineso taping over my knees and the swelling is significantly less. Guest guest
Hi, thank you for this good link! LDN often helps mild depressions. I think I had one more than a year ago when I ALWAYS was feeling sick and had tummy pain every single day. Within some weeks after starting with LDN, good old Ingrid returned, hubby celebrated, didn't believe his eyes (and ears)...haha...have had a super good temper since then, have even developed patience with him...Gosh.... Guest guest
Yes, they check me often. I am going to discuss thyroid with my Dr. I read that hypothyroidism doesn't always show itself by low lab results. My hormones are always out of whack. I also have PCOS. -- In low dose naltrexone , " zahavi " <zahavi100@...> wrote: > > did you check thyroid and other hormones. > > >

Guest guest
thyroid must be checked also with symptoms.there is also barness test to see if you have low morning temp.if your hormones are not ok then find a doctor that works with bio-identical.too much estrogen and low progesteron can also cause problems with the thyroid. > > > > did you check thyroid and other hormones. > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Thanks for the info. I read about testing my temp several times a day, to see if it runs low. I've checked my first morning (basal) temp for years, to conceive or help prevent pregnancy. It's always low then. I wonder how low a basal temp is, with hypothyroidism. I'll check into it.
