Guest guest
It sounds like her histamine levels are messed up or something with her immune function. There are many things that can make the body over reactive. First let me say..avoid OFF repellent at all costs. It's toxic. It's a pesticide and it's poison. There are natural bug repellants available at the health food store. Also for bug bites, put meat tenderizer on the them to minimize the swelling reaction. My holistic doc taught me that. I honestly don't beleive there is such a thing as a " kid who swells easily " . That sounds like they don't know either. Diarrhea and cramp from dairy is often lactose intolerance. Eliminate dairy or try limiting it and using digestive enzymes. Swelling skin with latex, is a latex allergy. Throwing up grapes can be many reasons. They are a phenol food and some kids don't do phenols well or she's isn't able to digest them properly. Avoid them for now. A food IGA, IGG panel to see what she's allergic too. maybe an environmental allergy panel as well. Hair test? Basic blood work up. Check histamine levels? I will put what I can find in Andy's book about high histamine Page 97: People with high histamine and low methionine will have severe " normal " allergies and lots of colds. Page 127: Excessively high histamine (as shown by blood test or by symptoms). Your serum and hair copper will be normal. You will have special problems with suicidal depression, having your mind go blank, and being very sensitive to pain. You may have allergies and they will make your nose run and eye itch like mad, as will colds. You will respond well to calcium, methyl sources except folate, zinc, and antihistamines that make you feel drowsy. (she might not have all these signs, but if you are needing to give antihistamines, then there is a histamine problem for some reason. Andy also talks on page 107 about taking histamine to tell the immune system to cut it out, calm down already.. Obviously I don't advise giving her any without testing. Try liver support, extra Vitamin C and avoiding dairy, bug spray etc until you can figure out more. I also think I read that prostaglandins can be high in someone who is prone to inflammation. Taking Primrose oil can help lower that. As well as essential fatty acids. Vitamin C is a mild antihistamine... I would suggest some liver support too so her body can dump chemicals efficiently and not sit in the body creating reactions. Has she been tested for candida? Also problems related to the immune system warranted looking at adrenal function and thyroid function. Has she has a hair test from DDI? Any thyroid labs? > > Hello, > > We had an allergy test today and the test results showed no allergic > reactions to anything. Her Histamine spot was 6x7 but everything else > was 3x3 or less. Guest guest
We usually have blood done. For us it is about a week to get the results. They've been very reliable for us and covered with insurance so we've always dealt with an allergist. In the mean time, avoid foods causing issues and many can figure out by trial and error the problems. Latex, watch out for an allergy to bananas. Don't give her dairy, her reactions trump any test no matter the results. Remember, no test is perfect and go with reactions and your instincts. Tammy [ ] Allergy Test Result?? Hello, We had an allergy test today and the test results showed no allergic reactions to anything. Her Histamine spot was 6x7 but everything else was 3x3 or less. She swelled with the salt water so that doctor said that is seems my daughter in sensitive and just easily swells. We went because yesterday, her babysitter put OFF Skintastic on her body including her face (because she seems to always get bitten on her face). She broke out in hives immediately after it was put on (she has never broken out before with the OFF product) and she was bitten anyway and bite swelled to the width of a golf ball. I also asked the allergist why did my daughter get diarrhea and cramps from dairy products, why does she throw up grapes, why did her skin swell when you put latex on it, etc. (this is an Allergy, Gastro, etc. type clinic). She said that my daughter is one of those that easily swells. So I said, don't just tell me anything to get me out of here. She told me that if I wanted a different test done, let her know and she will do it. So, am I in the wrong place? Should I see a different type of doctor? What type of test should I be asking for? I really want to try and do something about the extreme swelling; I'm really trying to avoid giving her AntiHistamine everyday. I also wanted to see if I can find more information about foods she may be allergic too. TIA

SHe has never swelled before so I was trying to figure out why now ... but in the end I won't use it anymore. I honestly don't beleive there is such a thing as a " kid who swells easily " . That sounds like they don't know either. Diarrhea and cramp from dairy is often lactose intolerance. Eliminate dairy or try limiting it and using digestive enzymes.*****When we started GFCF a year ago, we eliminated dairy and never went back. I'm wondering why it is she can eat her favorite Swiss cheese without a problem but can not tolerate most milks. Is it because the cheese is cooked? Swelling skin with latex, is a latex allergy. *****Yep, we figured this one out in the Emergency room when she was 4. I pretty much eliminated most of the things that caused reactions/discomfort; what I was trying to find out from the doctor is if there is an underlying issue. I'm not " looking " for things but I wanted a definitive answer ..... and didn't get it. Throwing up grapes can be many reasons. They are a phenol food and some kids don't do phenols well or she's isn't able to digest them properly. Avoid them for now. Check histamine levels?*****I ordered a hair test on Tuesday from DD and am still waiting on a Req. We haven't done Blood work; which test is that? I'm told that from the size of her reaction to the skin prick with the Histamine that she has a high Histamine level and that I should put her on an Anti-Histamine everyday. I'm not comfortable doing that...... I will put what I can find in Andy's book about high histamine***** I just got his book yesterday and am only at page 60 but I will jump to the other pages and read up but so far: Page 97: People with high histamine and low methionine will have severe " normal " allergies and lots of colds. *****Before we started GFCF and supplements, my daughter had lots of colds. Now, I think she may have had 1 cold in the last 1 1/2 year. The thing is, in the past, she only reacted strongly to bug bites and latex. Now, her reactions are stronger and we add OFF to the list. I want to make sure I'm not giving her something that is increasing her reaction. Page 127: Excessively high histamine (as shown by blood test or by symptoms). If you are referencing mosquito bites, try giving B1. Owens mentioned this several years ago, and since I started taking it and giving it to my kids, no one gets bit any more, and we don't use bug repellent. >>She broke out in hives immediately after it was put on (she > has never broken out before with the OFF product) and she was bitten > anyway and bite swelled to the width of a golf ball. Yep, before B1, we were mosquito magnets here, and the resulting bites did swell to huge size. Dana

Guest guest
I just pulled the envelope from DD out the mail today and will send it in tomorrow. I will post the samples when I receive them. Thanks everyone for your comments. I really appreciate them. From: Jada <paxlforme@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Allergy Test Result??
