.. Is thereany way to take larger amounts of garlic while not smelling like a walking garlic bulb?

I carry a small vial of peppermint oil and when I am told I smell like garlic (or I suspect I do!) I use the little dropper and put a drop or 2 of the oil on my tongue. Takes away the garlic odor immediately. An effective little trick I learned from herbalist Dr. Schulze.

Have you tried making parsley tea and drinking that? It seems to work for

some people and it works for my dogs.

Hi all,

I have a problem. I have been taking quite

a bit of raw garlic, up to 5 cloves a day, for some pneumonia I am kicking.

But I smell like garlic. And, quite strongly, I have been told. Is thereany

way to take larger amounts of garlic while not smelling like a walking garlic

bulb? Any counterccting de-smellifying herbs to be taken internally or some

specific substance or formula to be rubbed on the skin?

I hope someone has some ideas! :)

I have only used fresh parsley...but imagine that the powdered stuff would

work.

I just fill a quart jar up with fresh parsley, then fill jar with boiling

water. I let it sit overnight - strain and drink after warming up. It is

a diarectic , so you might starting going to the bathroom more often.

Hi Anne,

That's a good suggestion. I currently

only have powdered parsley. I wonder if some capsules of the powdered stuff

would do the same thing?

Hmmmm.....parsley might make your breath smell better, and I am sure if

you eat enough of it you might smell better too. However, that could

take a lot of parsley. Once you quit eating the garlic, you should

begin to smell better in a couple of days. You can speed this up by

taking some hot baths to allow your body to do some serious sweating. Do

eat some parsley though and even drink some in tea. You will be much

better off using fresh though.

Sounds fantastic. But was this just for garlic breath, or for that overall, exucing garlic from every pore, kind of help? :)

It is pretty much a quick fix for garlic breath. That's the one area that seems the most offensive to other people and they stop complaining once I get rid of the breath problem. As far as clearing the garlic smell from your whole body, I don't have a remedy for that except maybe drinking lots and lots of water with fresh lemon throughout the entire day.
