Guest guest
Beth, My daughter began chelation when I found info in late 2001. She was 17. I, too, was very afraid to begin; not wanting to do further damage to a beloved - seizures, immune problems, gut trouble etc were already on board. I had no doc and no family support. By far, it has been the most helpful long term therapy. When I began chelation for myself, I realized that the 50mg dose for a 120# that I had been giving her was way too much!! We backed down several steps, chelated at 12.5mg for awhile and gradually have worked up to 25mg of each[ala and dmsa]. You can find some adult stories of low dose use at frequent-dose-chelation/? yguid=140279175 We have also used the low dose protocol for my 8y grandson. He was a lead and mercury mess at age 3. He's a funny, social, smart etc second grader. No one has a clue about his early distress. Thankfully, he was a quick responder. Hope this helps, > > I'm hoping for some feedback here. I got the ALA from Kirkman and we have a long weekend so I'm going to start 12.5 mg every 3 hours and 4 hours after bedtime... I would like to do it every other weekend so 3 days on 11 days off... is that ok? I've order DMSA and will add it the next round also at 12.5mg. I am nervous about doing this without a doctor so I guess I need someone with experience to at least tell me I'm not going to hurt my son because of the low dosage. The attached memo gives the details of the Hair Test. My son is almost 11 ... we did chelation for about 2 years when he was around 6 and lead came out mostly and he made terrific gains, but the mercury didn't come out like I had hoped. That was on the 8 hour schedule with DMSA and ALA 100 mg each every other weekend. I was told to stop by the DAN doctor when the zinc levels got low... my son never had any problems with his liver. Also is the RBC necessary before the chelation begins... > > Thankful for any comments on the hair test or the chelation protocal I've chosen...
