Remove DMSA from our chelation cocktail

I have been chelating my 5 years old for almost 2 years, using DMSA/ALA/NDF on

AC protocol. Mercury started to show up in his UTM since Jane last year in

addition to Lead. Other metals except Aluminum were all peaked out prior to the

initial presence of Mercury in urine. We are now onto the significant,

neurotoxic metals, mainly Lead, Mercury, and Aluminum. At the same time, I

concern about the long-term use of DMSA and want to remove it from our chelation

cocktail to give my son's detox organs some breaks and still be able to continue

chelation. Is it OK for where we are now to remove DMSA and only use ALA

together with vitamin C, Bs, E, Zinc Picolinate, Selenium in the form of

L-Selenomethionine, Garlic extract, NAC, CoQ10, Carnitine, and reduced

Glutathione? Without DMSA, I expect that metal pulls might decrease a bit.

But, can the combo of supplements I mentioned above be still considered

effective and safe? Thank you.

You'll eventually need to add back DMSA since lead takes a long time to chelate.

Hi Limin, I am new at this; I have only chelated my son 7 rounds total

(first 3 with just DMSA, and the last 4 with DMSA/ALA) and I also

worry some about long-term DMSA use, even at this low dose. I am

curious: have you checked your son's liver enzymes? And, do you use

any liver support for him?

Also I remember someone on this site I think mentioning that they

would use DMSA/ALA then ALA alone on alternate weekends. I am

thinking of trying something like that eventually. Again, just my

opinion, I am a beginner here.

Best of luck to you,

Kellie

Kellie,

We periodically do a liver panel + creatinine test to check both liver and

kidneys function as well as checking blood minerals status. We are on these

organ support/ drainage supplements:

- Bioray Liverlife

- HMD Organic Lavage

- NutraMedix Burbur Detox (a herbal drainage for liver, kidneys, lymphatic

system, and the ground matrix).

- Pekana three basic Detoxification & Drainage Kit (homeopathic remedies

made in Germany).

My son will need to be put under general Anesthesia soon for dental work. I

want to remove DMSA a few weeks before and after the dental procedure and

hope not to tax on his detox organs heavily. Afterwards, using DMSA/ALA

then ALA alone on alternate weekends seems to be a good idea. Thank you.
