When is the Old Medical Model going to give up?

I just had the thought today of when are doctors practicing under

the " old outdated Medical Model " going to give up and get some new

training?? The practice of going to your doctor for a disease and

getting a band aid effect of a prescription is so outdated to me.

If doctors, clinics, hospitals, and medical schools are not keeping up

to what is happening around themselves and keeping up with the times

they have a real chance of going out of business.

More and more people are seeking alternative medicine, eastern

medicine, functional medicine, whole system medicine, ect.

I had a friend's mother from highschool that had this eye twitching

problem and after awhile it turned in to having headaches. She went

to several doctors and even the famous Mayo clinic in Minnesota where

I live. Most of the places prescribed a medicine and the problem did

not go away. Finally, she went to an alternative doctor whom right

away asked her to write everything down that she was eating and

drinking. It turned out she was drinking a whole bunch of diet Coke's

or diet Pepsi's (I forget which one) anyway as soon as the

alternative doctor saw this the doctor recommended to stop drinking

this and low and behold her eye problem went away. So now there is

another consumer of alternative doctors after not getting the answers

from the " old medical model " doctors.

Consumers are savvier today than every before. Now I will only go to

doctors that have a systemic view of the body, have nutritional

training, and know how to treat the root of the problem.

I am much more medically savvy then every before and I will never

turn back!!

I am lucky to live in a state (Minnesota) that is pretty progressive

with medicine but my state still has a long way to go!!
