Guest guest
We are into 20 months of chelation(AC protocol - 83rd weekend round) for my 8.5 yr son somewhat verbal(with chelation). We have seeing steady progress with improvements in many areas but speech is still a major issue. We just did the fatty acids to rule out any metabolic issues. Any help in intrepreting this test is greatly appreciated(I have put this in the descending order with tab delimited based on Andy's post in the archives about posting fatty acids test). lauric 3.647929 behenic 2.010870 nervonic 1.233645 triene/tetraene 1.074074 myristic 1.000000 11-eicosenoic 0.947867 capric 0.933333 lignoceric 0.897436 hexacosanoic 0.826667 nonadecanoic 0.704918 la/dgla 0.590909 docosapentaenoic 0.529412 heptadecanoic 0.509804 mead 0.504425 tricosanoic 0.474576 docosahexaenoic 0.400749 erucic 0.367347 pentadecanoic 0.366667 docosadienoic 0.333333 arachidic 0.333333 myristoleic 0.243243 total c:18 trans 0.241611 palmitoleic 0.222749 palmitelaidic 0.208333 linoleic 0.163534 stearic 0.159555 palmitic 0.156307 epa/dgla 0.143725 heneicosanoic 0.134969 eicosapentaenoic 0.129944 vaccenic 0.122807 eicosadienoic 0.096774 gamma linolenic 0.073232 dihomogamma linolenic 0.061674 aa/epa 0.041872 oleic -0.008700 docosatetraenoic -0.018868 alpha linolenic -0.026667 arachidonic -0.048518 Note: Hexacosanoic is <.62, range is <=.75 Thanks a bunch! Guest guest
It would be the most convenient if you can scan the report and upload it to the files section. If not I will need to know the asserted reference ranges as well as the results. WHen you get this done send me the post number of the message discussing it in private email so I can find it on the web interface for the list. What my son needed for speech is written here http://www.danasview.net/issues.htm I can't interpret your fatty acid test, but I can tell you that my son needed mito cocktail before he properly absorbed fats http://www.danasview.net/mar05.htm Dana

He seems to need more EFA's generally. This suggests using assorted vegetable oils like canola, soy and adding some flax or fish oil. Also he needs a lot of vitamin E to retain and use them (or they get oxidized), and mixing some of that in the bottles of oil, and refrigerating them, will help keep them fresh. > > lauric 3.647929 > behenic 2.010870 > nervonic 1.233645 > triene/tetraene 1.074074 > myristic 1.000000 > 11-eicosenoic 0.947867 > capric 0.933333 > lignoceric 0.897436 > hexacosanoic 0.826667 > nonadecanoic 0.704918 > la/dgla 0.590909 > docosapentaenoic 0.529412 > heptadecanoic 0.509804 > mead 0.504425 > tricosanoic 0.474576 > docosahexaenoic 0.400749 - DHA, fish oil stuff. > erucic 0.367347 > pentadecanoic 0.366667 > docosadienoic 0.333333 > arachidic 0.333333 > myristoleic 0.243243 > total c:18 trans 0.241611 - hydrogenated fat, keep this low like it is! > palmitoleic 0.222749 > palmitelaidic 0.208333 > linoleic 0.163534 > stearic 0.159555 > palmitic 0.156307 > epa/dgla 0.143725 > heneicosanoic 0.134969 > eicosapentaenoic 0.129944 - EPA, more fish oil stuff, too low. > vaccenic 0.122807 > eicosadienoic 0.096774 > gamma linolenic 0.073232 > dihomogamma linolenic 0.061674 > aa/epa 0.041872 > oleic -0.008700 > docosatetraenoic -0.018868 > alpha linolenic -0.026667 - vegetable source omega 3 oil, flax oil has a lot of this. > arachidonic -0.048518 - omega 6 EFA.
