Don't take the sulfate version, it can be constipating and is not well absorbed. Take iron apart from other minerals, and apart from rice. > Every time I take an iron supplement though, I get awful symptoms - > palitations, anxiety, dizziness, weakness - all symptoms I got when I > was really mercury toxic. Which tests told you that you were iron deficient? My son was iron toxic. Dana

I found that whenever I took iron in any supplemental form I would get an ache and stiffness in my right shoulder - One time when it was sore I was having acupuncture for another reason and mentioned it - so it got treated by the acupuncture as well and now I don't have any problems taking iron. Iron deficiency can cause hair loss - so can lots of other things - hypothyroidism, excess copper, deficiency of proteins, zinc, biotin, potassium, silicon, folic acid, inositol, and B5, to name a few.
