My son went on Armour 1/4 grain, 1 tablet daily and I am wondering if

he also needs some ACE. I think I read somewhere that you should not

treat one without the other if needed. His hair test is 's hair

test in files.

TIA

No you shouldn't. A saliva cortisol test might be a good idea to

get a baseline. As for the thyroid, are you sure the problem is

autoimmune? There is a whole constellation of problems that occur in

ASD involving the acid-base balance of the body (controlled by the

bicarbonate balance) resulting from malfunctions in the kidney anion-

exchangers. This constellation shows up clinically with an imbalance

between the active vs storage forms of vitamin D (the ratio of 1,25-D

to 25-D should not be higher than 0.8, but often is. It also

involves vitamin A, and calcium regulation via vitamin K-dependent

proteins (blood clotting factors, bone building proteins, and at

least one protein that shuttles calcium around in the nervous

system). The constellation appears to include hypothyroidism, caused

by a faulty iodine transporter. The Vitamin K list is the place to

find out about that protocol.
