I have given my kids too much zinc, and at one point they did become fully zinc loaded. Too much zinc did cause problems here. Dana

Guest guest
My daughter with an autoimmune disease gets headaches from even a small amount of zinc. Zinc revs up the immune system which is bad if you have an underlying autoimmune disease. Autoimmune disease means your immune system attacks itself in some way, and zinc makes the immune system stronger, so in essence with autoimmune you would be making the body stronger to attack itself by giving zinc. I go out of my way to give my daughter supplements that do not contain zinc. Especially since she has a vision threatening eye disease and the headache caused by zinc is right above her worst eye. On the other hand my son had huge gains from taking 5x the rda of zinc. He took an absolute unreal amount and it was one of our biggest " wows " in terms of gains when we upped his zinc along with other supplements. Everyone is different. Guest guest
> > Hi Dana, > Could you please let me know what these problems were when given 'too much zinc' For #1, nosebleeds and urgent desire to pace back and forth. Nosebleeds were caused by too-low copper. Pacing was caused both by too much zinc and too much copper. For #2, hand posturing and ODD behaviors. These were his symptoms of too-low zinc also. At my house, once a supplement was no longer needed, it tended to cause the same problems that initially it had eliminated. Dana
