Yes, Marge, it does...thanks! I suspected as much, because I used to do theatrical makeup and we always used Ponds to remove greasepaint. It never seemed like something I'd want to leave soaking on my skin (plus I have a sort of Pavlovian reaction to it...I think I smell greasepaint and suddenly begin quoting from " Arsenic and Old Lace " ! <grin>) A few of the cold cream recipes in the Library call don't specify the type of oil, so I imagine I can play around with the basic ingredients of borax, oil, distilled water or rosewater and beeswax and come up with something I like. I came up with a pretty good honey, oat and almond scrub last year. I really like putting honey in things... If anyone has any ideas for night cream recipes, I'd love to hear them! home page: http://www.ncf.ca/~aj471 illustrated bath bomb instructions: http://www.ncf.ca/~aj471/BathBombs.html

I'm >looking for cleansing. TIA I'm afraid I don't have a recipe to offer you, but here is the list of ingredients from one cold cream: water, white petrolatum, cetyl alcohol, glycerin, sodium lauryl sulfate, (and preservatives). Cold creams are generally w/o emulsions, so they're not something that would rinse off with water like a regular cleanser. Instead of something that suds up on the skin, it's like applying a heavy cream and then it would be wiped off, either with a damp face cloth or tissue. Cold cream is often used to remove make up. For dry skin, cold cream makes a good cleanser. It doesn't make the skin feel tight and dry, but leaves it soft. The most famous cold cream is Ponds...and cold cream always reminds me of my dear old Auntie Rita and her ever present jar of Pond's. ;-) Warmly, Sherri Oshun Spirit Arts Ltd.
