Guest guest
*Yawn* Somebody uses the autism issue to make some money. There's supposed to be a show on ABC TV Thursday night at 10PM ET. The buzz has the vaccine industrial complex swarming the media. For the archive it's probably good to point out that there are lots and lots of vaccine zealots vomiting all over the place about parents not vaccinating their kids. The media is using the word myth in their headlines a lot, echoing the claim that vaccines have come in peace, and without them we all die in a cesspool of our ordinary filth and vileness. Obviously, there's *something* in the Eli Stone debut about autism, but what exactly is this *something*? The preview of the pilot episode suggests that the show is the handy work of the usual consortium of media scholars and legal outsiders trying to disinform the general public by the same old propaganda by proxy ploy. The actual writers, who clearly swipe away from the McBeal line, employ the same old tired and worn out tricks to engage the viewer, namely what appears to be their version of the American- dream phat, materialistic secular lifestyle, and of course, all the while they will be loading the heads watching with as much pro- vaccine garbage as possible. How do I know? Would you believe a little bird just landed on my shoulder and told me the writers were aided in the composition of the show and they parroted vaccine industrial complex propaganda literally line by line? The fact that the AAP, a group which has think-smiths on-board at all the major networks, is extremely late protesting the program is a clear indication that the hub-bub is nothing more than a cooperative publicity tactic to encourage MORE viewers to watch the show. Try to think of the AAP as one guy in a car full of streakers sticking his bottom out of the window to moon what he believes are unsuspecting pedestrians. That's what this Eli Stone pilot is all about. Buck naked stupidity. On it's face, do we seriously believe ABC censors and legal pups would allow a show to air if they hadn't already examined it, studied it, and not reached the mental conclusion that it's a worthy tool in protecting their drug company advertisers? Lots of dumb bombs will be dropped on the public, and those who continue to sow the seeds of doubt and confusion will have one less bright, shiny object in their arsenal. Is it so hard to understand nothing is going to prevent justice for our children? Mk 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. Guest guest
People are making money off the autism issue EVERY DAY!!!!!! It's a goldmine and if we parents didn't have each other to run things by....well, we'd be screwed. I know my opinion of TV is unpopular...but I believe it is a medium that changes our culture (sometimes for better, sometimes for worse) and this show is a GOOD thing. Look....I know there's a boogeyman behind everything and we all have paranoia over who's really controlling what we hear or see on TV, but occasionally TV does great things. Race relations, drug and alcohol abuse, homosexuality, women's rights, abortion, death penalty, and child abuse used to be " taboo " subjects until they were discussed openly on TV. We cannot control how people will react to this show and quiet frankly, it isn't up to us to convince others of the fact autism is a preventable condition that is brought on by vaccines. People will believe what they want.....but isn't it nice that our plight will no longer be the dirty little secret of the medical community? Hell, won't it be wonderful if some parents of autistic children who believed their neurologist doomsday diagnosis ( " nothing you can do " " no treatment " " drugs and institutions would be best " ) changed their minds and sought out help from experiencd parents? I'm willing to bet we see a climb of new members on this board after the show. Those are the only people I care about....the ASD kids and their parents. People who don't have ASD kids or know nothing about autism won't care. Sad, but true. They'll say " that's too bad about their kid, but why do they blame vaccines? " But, somewhere out there a lightbulb will go off above some parents head and they'll say " there IS something I can do! Paranoia? Exactly! That's indirection. In mass media, indirection is the ability to reference something using a name, reference, or container instead of the value itself. How else could the PR people turn a sadistic, ritualistic pagan cult practice into a " critical, completely safe, urgent, pandemic- preventing, life-saving vaccine " ? From Wikipedia: " One of Bernays' favorite techniques for manipulating public opinion was the indirect use of " third party authorities " to plead his clients' causes. " If you can influence the leaders, either with or without their conscious cooperation, you automatically influence the group which they sway, " he said. " Something to think about.
