I have to jump in here. Sometimes all it takes is different

presentation. My little one loves to crunch ice cubes, so I started

putting the fresh fruit and veggie juices in ice cube trays... He

loves it!! It's so great to have a success, at least once in

awhile. Mine is 2, but I have done a lot of nannying and daycare

and seen all kinds of kids who wouldn't eat what their parents wanted

because they were fascinated with a particular type of food. ( a girl

who would only eat things wrapped in a tortilla, boy who would only

eat things he could dip)

Maybe there's a way you could disguise a vegetable to look like meat

in a meal? For example, make a dish you serve often, like spaghetti

or lasagna with " meat " sauce but substitute finely chopped zucchinni

or mushrooms? Would he notice? I don't know what you serve him

normally so I couldn't come up with anything else, but maybe you'll

get some ideas.

I also agree with Gypsi that if you continue to eat right, he'll

probably come around later. Stick with it, and GOOD LUCK!

Years ago when I met my DH, he did not recognize salad as food. I learned

the trick of putting a salad in front of him first thing, when he is hungry.

Now he looks forward to them!

My mother also taught me a trick of placement on the plate. She always put

the meat in front because we had to cut it. But the veggies went at 1 to 2

o'clock and the spuds at 10 to 11 o'clock, so we would have to reach across

to get them We went for the easier stuff, the veggies. Try it and see...it

works!

Candace,

What type of discipline techniques are you using? My son used to run and I as a mother was not consistent and was very stressed out into I changed my discipline techniques.

I used most techniques in "To Train Up A Child" by Pearl. Also there is the parent wise series.

I have a 4.5 ds and no he does not eat everything but we have a rule that he must eat at least take one bite of everything on his plate.Candace Podratz <momofbrock@...> wrote:

I'm on a constant search! I used to be able to melt cheese on veggies andthen he'd eat it. Then I'd make it in a stir fry with meat and he's eatthem. Then it was putting veggies in a hotdish....I used to be able to get him to eat fruit in yogurt or ice cream. Now hewon't eat yogurt or ice cream with or w/out fruit and fruit is out of thequestion!I think it'll be easier once we have a table and he can't run away from meand just not eat. ~hoping~

There were things i wouldn't eat too... I would sit at the table while my brothers ate and left... Mom and Dad would go outside and have a smoke while enjoying the night... I would sit there for awhile then request to go to the bathroom... I would sit there until i heard my Mom clearing the plates... sometimes this was a long time... hahaha..... My Mom finally got wise and wouldn't let me leave the table at all after awhile til she got tired of me sitting there.. my brothers used to hold this against me too... i was the baby and only girl... (..must have been spoiled)<eg> well what ever you do he will survive and so will you.. and he will grow up to be a fantastic man who loves his mom.. and will be your protector...

Ever thought about going to a church to see if they had a table... when i left my hubby of the time and went through a womens shelter... i went to a church who had a pantry place of clothes and such.. they Gave me alot of stuff... i was blessed even with meeting someone who was attached with the 700 club... i ended up getting beds, bedding, clothes for my three kids kitchen stuffs etc.... all kinds of things.. also was adopted at that time for Christmas... it was a great year... left an abusive man and had a great start.... i will pray you have a great start also...

My mom treated it differently....we didn't have to eat all of everything, but we had to take just *one bite* of everything on our plates. Every time. That got me to learn to like a lot of things I never would have tried otherwise, plus we didn't fight over dinner.
