I do not know what plain club soda has in it in the way of acceptable/not acceptable ingredients. If it is ok to drink, you could mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with fruit juice. Or just squeeze lemon into it.

Subject: Need replacement for soft drinks and question about flax seed

ok.. trying to get rid of my soft drink addiction... i have cut them down to two a day but still want them gone... i know water is the best thing to drink... but is there some good.. store bought herbal tea or something that will help replace the need (i feel it is a need anyway) for that carbonated fizz? Something that will nurish me but can be drank several times a day to give my thirst satisfaction? something that does not require alot of ingredients in it....or that can be made up ahead of time... something fast... is what i am asking i guess... the convenience of soft drinks is what i think anyway... is what makes it hard to stop them....

also... needing some good veggitarian type protein that is not tofu... i know lentiles right?? these are better sprouted right rather then cooked...what about flax? should these be sprouted or should you just eat them ground or in oil form?

do you drink soft drinks that have caffeine?? caffeine can take about 5 days or more to leave the system. Try fruit drinks, lemon juice water. ... herbal iced teas. (make a pitcher and fill your bottles)..Gypsi <aromatic_wings@...> wrote:

Just my thoughts but as our bodies work really hard to eliminate carbon

dioxide (as it is a waste product) why put carbon dioxide back in? Most

sodas contain phosphoric acid or carbonic acid which will leach the

minerals from you bones, teeth, etc. Carbonated drinks are very hard on

the spleen and the spleen is very necessary for a properly functioning

immune system.

Your right, you were and are lucky. I grew up drinking coke, pepsi, dr.

pepper, seven-up, squirt, grape sodas, orange sodas, cream sodas, root

beer, etc. Now I have managed to stay completely away from all of this

for going on 10 years now. I loved the carbonation effect on the body

but then I didn't realize how bad this stuff was until I started

researching for my own health.

It was an idea yes. I do hope you don't think I was nit-picking on you

cause that was not what my intention was. I was just trying to make a

point using your email, no maliciousness intended. :-)

I guess I got lucky. I moved to Arizona and let me tell you, soft drinks

in that heat (115 - 125 in the summer) just don't cut the mustard. The

only thing I could tolerate was water with fresh lemon added in and lots

of it. Lost my craving pretty darn quick.

=====================================

Lemon juice begins to oxidize and that will change the taste along with

the effectiveness of the lemon juice itself. Best to make it fresh.

Although, you could squeeze up a bunch of lemons and refrigerate the

juice if you are going to be using it regularly. Like, juice up enough

to last the day or maybe several but I wouldn't go much past three or

four days max.
