Guest guest
I know this is Dr. 's formula, however, when I made mine I made it as a tincture and did not simmer it... I used the herbs and everclear and made mine... worked fine for me.. but to answer your question..."it's volume is about 1/2 the water.. if you used a gallon it would be about 2 quarts... You would be better using cut and sifted if you follow this ... I used mostly powdered as I had it on hand and used alcohol... Plus, I was taking it orally and applying it directly .(what I applied direct I used some DMSO also.) Now that I have you confused.. lol... I made it easy... I took the ingredients and tinctured it. Does this make it easier for you? It worked this way for me. SuziTerriLynne <terri_lynne@...> wrote: Dear Suzie, et al, I have a couple of questions about the bone, flesh, and cartilage formula. First of all, can I use powdered herbs for any of the herbs in the formula? Or do I NEED cut and sifted? My second question concerns reducing the formula. The directions say reduce the liquid down to its volume by simmering over low heat. What is its volume? Do you always want to reduce it, and if so, by how much? Guest guest
Hi Suzie, So you tinctured powdered herbs? Does this require straining after the tincturing is done? Also, I called lab today to order DMSO. They have a number of solutions. I ordered the 90%. Is this a good solution to use for headaches and with the BFC or deep tissue repair oil? Thanks again, TerriLynne Suzie wrote: I know this is Dr. 's formula, however, when I made mine I made it as a tincture and did not simmer it... Guest guest
Yes you still have to strain.. I use heavy cheesecloth. You still have some of the powder in the tincture... just shake it up before use... I am not familiar with the 90% is this already diluted with distilled water.- what did Jeff say? or did you talk to him.. here is the dilution info.. You should call him.. and ask.. about it needing to be diluted or not. The DMSO will be good but we need to find out whether you can use it straight out of the bottle or you need to dilute it. Also read Message 222 where Don explains the dilution. I still have some left from "past days" so haven't had to order any yet... but what I was going to order would be a gallon straight and would have to be diluted... which is different (I think) then what you are getting.. Topical DMSO SolutionDMSO applied to the skin is administered in 50%/H2O concentration above the neck and 70%/H2O below the shoulders.Wash hands before use. The area to be treated should be dry and clean. DMSO will carry with it other chemicals with a molecular weight of less than 1000 but will not transport bacteria or viruses. DMSO dries in 30 minutes. The volume per application is 5-15 mL. Apply by rubbing DMSO over painful areas. The frequency of administration is 2-4 times daily.TerriLynne <terri_lynne@...> wrote: Hi Suzie, So you tinctured powdered herbs? Does this require straining after the tincturing is done? Thanks again, TerriLynne =========================== Hi TerriLynne, Tincturing with powdered herbs does require straining, yes. There will always be some very fine powder that will remain and this is okay. The 90% DMSO is fine to use but as Dr. 's recommends you should dilute it for use above the neck to 50%. Of course, it is your choice. The best way to deal with headaches of any kind is to fast. Headaches are just your bodies way of trying to tell you to get out of the way so it can heal itself. That's all. :-) Peace be with you TerriLynne. -- Peace, love and light, Don "Quai" Eitner "Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man."
