Guest guest
Hi all My DS9 (22 rounds Cutler protocol DMSA/ALA so far) has developed a very small sore/crack at the corner of his mouth. He said he has had it for weeks (so small though I had not noticed it before). First thing I think of is that its nutritional. Does anyone have anys suggestions on cause and treatment? Many thanks. Guest guest
Alison, This is often a B2 (riboflavin) deficiency. I'm pretty sure if you add more (a few times a day) you'll see that sore clear fairly quickly. FWIW, my son needs quite huge amounts of B2. It seems to be related to fighting viruses, in our case. Many thanks. Deficiency of B2 or B12, vitamin A toxicity, and yeast overgrowth are the first things that I think of. Dana

Guest guest
I am not Dana, but, I know your feeling. Our daughter's symptoms or results from supplements have not always been clearcut either. For me, it's about experience and time. We've been at it for about a year and only just in the past few weeks have I been able to recognize what I think is yeast overgrowth in our daughter...which might also be a B-deficiency or perhaps its lack of folic acid or maybe it's the corticosteroid lotions she's had to have for her autoimmune disorder... It's incredibly frustrating at times. For me...it's about going through it, continuing to educate myself and using hindsight to help me go forward. As you get to know your child in recovery, you'll be able to pinpoint things better. We've learned about our children through the haze of opiates and deficiencies, now we have to learn what they're like when they're not doped up. The learning curve is steep, but, in time it can get easier. Unfortunately, not all of us are blessed with a rapid response child! LOL! in MD Re: [ ] Re: mouth sore > Dana.....I have to ask. I have four kids [and me], all with vaccine injury, so when someone posts a question, it is likely I have had at least *some* experience with it. >>With so many variables, > > how did you know what supps to add/eliminate/reduce? I have had yeast there myself, and I can certainly remember what it was like! My son has also had yeast in those places, and nothing ever showed in his bm but did show in behaviors and other ways, and it was addressed with biotin and GSE. > > I am giving lots of supps, and we are on a slow, steady, uphill curve. If not, then you are not expected to have as much info and experience as I have. You will learn everything you need to know, just keep researching and asking questions. Don't be so hard on yourself. And, you can even be thankful that you may not ever *need* to have this much experience. Vaccines are nasty............. Dana
Guest guest
Thanks very much Dana and others. He has MB12 and B2 supplementation. How would he get Vit A toxicity? Most likely is yeast overgrowth. His behaviour is not yeasty at the moment and he has been on GSE for the past 10 days however he is prone to constipation and it is particularly bad right now so I'm thinking it is probably chronic yeast. Mind you, even when I have thrown everything at his yeast he is still constipated, but the sore is new. Dana I have looked at your ideas sheet and am trying some things there. Have an appt with his Dr next week to discuss as well. Any great constipation ideas welcome. Thanks again, Alison W > > > > > Dana.....I have to ask. How did you learn all this? > > > Keep a journal. Usually from CLO, but any vitamin A supplementation can do it. >>Any great constipation ideas welcome. Guest guest
Ive been on methotrexate for over a year. This past week I got a small mouth sore. It hurts a bit. Anyone get these on the methotrexate and if so what do you use to take it away.. Thank you Jolene
Guest guest
Yes when I was on methotrexate, my mouth was sore. The leflunomide (Arava) that I am on is worse, but with methotrexate it seemed it affected my gum line. So I make sure to floss often and use Listerine, which hurts, but I do it to avoid gingivitis or infection. Also salt water works well for cankers. Guest guest
My rheumy prescribed me folic acid 1mg to take daily...if I get mouth sores I double up and it helps. You can get folic acid at any health store. If you're concerned about taking it, do a Google search of MTX and folic acid. Good luck, mouth sores suck! Guest guest
My rheumatologist has said that I can increase my folic acid dosage to as much as 4 mg by mouth daily in the event that I experience any mouth sores. Also, while it will not " take the sore away " dabbing a mixture of Benadryl and Maalox onto the sore often provides temporary relief. Hope your sore heals quickly. Drei.
