Guest guest
My son is almost 17 and his DAN doctor had him on TD-DMPS for a couple of years. He then had an allergic reaction, and also had spots that resembled bruises that he still has, even though we stopped a few months back. I am now terrified of chelation, and just want to give the best supplements to support his health until a safer way of chelation comes along. He never really showed much mercury coming out on his tests. The last one showed high lead levels. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Guest guest
Have you read the protocol in the files here, this is considered to be safer than most DAN protocols. It may be different than the DAN protocol you were using. It is a low dose, oral chelation given on the time the chelator lasts in the body. We use dmsa/ala. Some of us use alpha lipoic acid to remove mercury as part of chelation. If he has lead, which it seems he does, dmsa would remove that and may not cause the reactions you saw.Again, it could be the dosing/timing etc the DAN was using. Also, spots that resemble bruises..were they bruises? Are they gone now? Bruising during chelation can be associated with not enough vitamin C. I don't know history of what doses were used? what timing?, if any supplements were given?, was yeast treated during chelation?...so many things that can make chelation go better and work. Your welcome to post a more throughough run down of what has been done already and what reactions, symptoms, improvements there were, and whether or not he had a Hair elements test. meantime, while you read: Antifungals tp address gut yeast probiotics-keep gut in balance, support immune function Good multi's like Kirkman or Brainchild dietary changes, finding and avoiding allergens. > > My son is almost 17 and his DAN doctor had him on TD-DMPS for a couple > of years. Guest guest
What dose and dosing schedule were you using? I presume your son has NO mercury amalgam dental fillings?! Andy's protocol is safer than what most of the DAN! docs use. Ann More info: My son is on Nystatin, and we rotate GSE, Pau'd arco, etc. and give Theralac Probiotics. The bruise like marks just appeared at the site of the td-dmps application, and they've been there for months. We did a 3 day on 11 day off schedule. He gets Vitamin C, Zinc, b-12 shots, and Basic Nutrients from New Beginnings,DMG, Biotin, and CLO. Thanks!
Guest guest
I have read in different places that nystatin depletes COQ10 and that can cause some interesting issues. You might google COQ10 defiencey and see what happens. I took nystatin for over a year and had some issues myself...til I found out what was going on. hth Ronni > > My son is almost 17 and his DAN doctor had him on TD-DMPS for a couple > of years. Guest guest
Hi Ann. Don't be scared about chelation. As has been reported on this list, these DMPS patches can lead to skin reactions. That, along with the fact that it's hard to accurately measure the dose, is the reason that the trans-dermal approach has only been suggested here in the case of a child who can not swallow, since DMPS is perfectly well absorbed when taken orally. Now that you are here, the first thing I would suggest is to find out if your son indeed needs to be chelated. How was that determined? What would help us make sense of this, is if you told us (1) something about his symptoms and (2) showed us a Doctor's Data hair test, if it is available. If the test is not available, then you can get one through DirectLabs.Com. Mention this list, and you should get a discount. Make sure to notice that you want the " Hair Elements " test (maybe they call it " Essential Hair Elements " ), _not_ the " Toxic Hair Elements " test. If it does turn out that chelation is what might make sense for your son, the approach here is very very conservative, the most conservative you will find anywhere - and you can spend time discussing it with other people, like myself, who have been there. It is what everyone on this list does - take chelators properly by textbook criteria. > He never really showed much mercury coming out > on his tests. The last one showed high lead levels. DMPS is useless for lead anyway, if you think he has lead use DMSA. > Ann > More info: > > My son is on Nystatin, and we rotate GSE, Pau'd arco, etc. and give > Theralac Probiotics.
