Guest guest
Hello Cami. What dose of LDN do you take? Thank you, Svetlana From: cptnspeaking <cptnspeaking@...>Subject: [low dose naltrexone] LDN and ketotifen (?) being researched for dog w allergy and U.C.low dose naltrexone Date: Wednesday, June 25, 2008, 3:52 PM Hi All,I was on LDN for lupus and it helped greatly (I went to the Burzynskiclinic and was treated with PB, and am feeling much better and am offLDN. I even have been going hiking!). I have done a lot of researchon LDN for myself, but haven't found a whole lot out there for dogs. I've gone through the archives and have found that most messages arerelated to cancers in dogs. Our family dog has severe allergies andulcerative colitis. We home cook food and he's on a rotation diet (ofcourse grain, soy, and dairy free - he also has an allergy to anythingwith feathers), have him on probiotics, digestive enzymes,l-glutamine, Glutagentics, and have tried Digestinol, but we aren'tgetting him total relief from symptoms, and it is really hard to watchhim. He's very good natured, but is very itchy and not happy. We'retreating him for yeast through diet and supplementing, and doing moretests for h. pylori and other common bacteria, but we'd like somethingto give him relief from intestinal pain and symptoms.1. Has anyone used/heard of ketotifen used internally for systemicallergies (not restricted to bronchial/asthma) ?2. Has anyone else had success with a dog for Ulcerative Colitis? I'm not expecting much improvement in the allergy department from LDN.I know it can help, but I didn't see any improvement in my own - Isaw huge improvement in other symptoms though. We would like to tryboth ketotiphen and LDN but don't have a lot of info. Since this iskind of off topic, feel free to e-mail me privately. He's a gorgeousdog and very good natured and bouncey. I just know it must hurt morethan he shows (there is tarry blood in the stool on some days). Weare working with vets but do not want to do prednisone.Thank you!Cami
