Guest guest
You can get it from a compounding pharmacy in a powder that you mix with a liquid of your choice. The nystatin you speak of has aluminum in it and artificial flavoring. So it's not that great to begin with. It does come in capsules for adults..you can ask about that. I don't beleive there are other flavor options. > > I tried to give my 5 year old her first dose of nystatin this morning > and she would not take it. Guest guest
I ordered mine through Lee Silsby compounding pharmacy and they flavor it with stevia grape flavor. They can also do it bubble gum and strawberry. Our son takes the nystatin with no problem. @...: threebabygirs@...: Sun, 10 Feb 2008 14:46:18 +0000Subject: [ ] Liquid Nystatin- Taste I tried to give my 5 year old her first dose of nystatin this morning and she would not take it. Guest guest
We use the powdered nystatin and it's pretty horrid tasting. We found it helpful to mix it with applesauce and a drop of stevia. For liquid, can you put it in her fav juice? Guest guest
Sheila, The flavor we got from walgreens was vanilla and it tasted fine. I'm not sure what all it had in it as far as articial colors or sweeteners. We did not request anything special. - Theresa > > I tried to give my 5 year old her first dose of nystatin this morning > and she would not take it. Guest guest
My physician had it made at a compounding pharmacy for us. You may want to request it from one of them and then you can add your own flavors, stevia, etc. Here's a list of compounding pharmacies: http://www.angelfire.com/fl/endohystnhrt/pharmacy.html > > > > I tried to give my 5 year old her first dose of nystatin this morning > > and she would not take it. Guest guest
Thanks, the pharmacist changed the prescript to capsules. So now my daughter takes them ok. Plus they do not have any added ingredients. Thanks, Sheila > > > > > > I tried to give my 5 year old her first dose of nystatin this > morning > > > and she would not take it.
